Where are all the devblogs?

My point being what we can already see, it's a mish mash of it just happened and it happened Months ago, makes no sense. So not so much what is the Story, but they must be surely working to one or the other

There is always opportunity for backstory.

The origin of the virus, different beliefs or roads you could choose in looking for answers.

Maybe you look in the hospitals, virus and bacteria culturing areas, WMD?

A huge mystery the community can search and search to find answers to while Dean and his Dev team giggle away at us getting closer and closer to piecing it all together.

Special zombies that wander these special locations, following the tracks left from a story made group of survivors trying to find answers and then finishing the job.

Uncovering military grade loot hidden in a vault.

Sorry to go on and try and correct again. The Models of Buildings, Vehicles, Overgrowth etc are dictating this   " Are we spawned into something that is just happening ? Happening right now makes sense would explain Food and Drink laying around in Buildings etc, a general state of Chaos . But if all ( Most ) Vehicles in the SA are all Burnt out, Trees and Weeds are overgrowing Buildings and many other tell tale signs , rusted Ship Wrecks etc this leads me to believe we Enter the SA months after the Initial Zombie Outbreak.

Yes we do, and now that the chaos is over, its time to answer the big questions.

Track down the disbanded squads taking refuge and using their military gear to make safe zones before they were swamped by a hoard and tried crashed their cargo truck filled with proper military gear into a wall and being eaten.

Randomly spawned server events with backstory that change every couple of weeks to keep the map feeling fresh.

Ships naturally rust at sea, Not many people bother chopping trees down, the building would dilapidate over time naturally without a disaster. Most places don't bother weeding the pavements and whatnot regularly, they also grow quite quickly. The burned out cars could have happened from people fleeing or looting/rioting before moving on or being beaten up/eaten.

 

On the other hand, Tinned food and drinks generally hold their edibility for a few months to even a few years. Perhaps the shipwreck carried the Zombie plague, and when it crashed they spilled out and slaughtered Chernarus over a small period of time.

I think one thing we won't ever see is randomly spawned server events or anything that's scripted.  Rocket seems pretty adamant that every event and any future stories in the DayZ world will be player driven.  Basically, they'll set up the situation, map, backstory etc and then it's up to us as the player base to determine what happens next.

I'm fine with anything, I don't expect much sorry untill full release, just like Minecraft.

Maybe the end product is to develop a vaccine for the coming generation.

AI military bands and factions? It would be good if they did plan on adding a story.

I've heard it's cumin around 20th August and DayZ will be at Gamescom.

They're probably planning to show off all the work they've finished for the alpha which will hopefully be soon after.

Hopefully DayZ wows my friends so they go buy it :D

As to the back story, I think analysing it in minutiae and comparing / contrasting things with the map is a bit of a dead end.

 

This isn't reality, so things won't match up.

 

If a plant is too overgrown or a ship is too rusty, then it's merely an error. There's no conspiracy or hidden meaning. It's not an episode of "Lost".

 

Or am I just trying to put you off from the hidden reality?...

yep this is where going csi ends up with just utter bs pouring out for te sake of it.

 

keep the game fun and lets not turn it into a crafting nightmare . 2 worries i have about the game .

 

1 is i have a feeling soon ill get a pair of shoes then take them apart to make new shoes a rifle and a rowing boat.

 

 

keep that crafting simplish and not go full retard on it.

 

2nd one is and the biggest reason i dont fire up dayz as much as i used to is admin tools and standalone. as long as admins cant abuse tools or see live where people are in standalone ill buy it instantly !

 

i do harp on about that alot but the amount of people who do it is  joke and nearly as bad as the rampant hacks in public. funny thing is people will say just join a private server then you get the legit hacking of admins :lol:

 

 

would be nice to hear on the tools and if they will be used in standalone. fingers crossed they arent. also before a legit admin comes in now to defend his honor step back have ten seconds and breathe i dont mean you i mean the lows that do abuse tools that are in game and i do understand there legit uses. ;)

I Think that launching on 20+ August is A HUGE mistake. There was an interview in witch rocket estimated that vehicles will come in September so, it is obvious that you can't redo vehicles in 15-25 days. On the other hand launching early would be a disaster but I would like to believe that we are not on the early stage anymore. I know this is a complete remake of an already existing mod but a year of development (even by a very small group of developers) is enough for the poor Alpha stage. I wish only ONE thing and I expect only one thing from this developer blog, Accuracy about the launch date and the progress they have done. After 3 months without official information I (And all honest gamers I know, The true fans not the passive consumers) want something more than an average playthrough.
