Should auto convert it if you post a link, media tags not really necessary.

In my case this function has not been properly converting recently. If it dosent work lyrated simply post media tags at the beginning and the end of the video you wish to post.  Otherwise it will show up like this which I am copying and pasting into the link section.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vk9vHUiw7Pg

Notice how it appears as just a selectable link.  Just add the tabs listed below on each side of the video link and it will look like this.....

Media tags- [xxxxx] < plug in media [/XXXXX] <plug in media before & after link.

Try right clicking > paste the URL as plain text.

In Chrome when you copy the URL into a rich text editor, it is part of the browser's implementation of rich text editing that it will automatically hyperlink the URL.  It is how the browser handles copying the URL from the address bar into an RTE.

Toggling to bbcode is a function of our software and not browser related specifically.  However, the URL being hyperlinked when you paste it into the editor is part of how the browser handles that.

I'm not sure if other browsers do something similar.

Pasting as plain text works though without media tags. Alternatively you can post it into notepad and then copy paste it again and it will lose the hyperlink and embed.

When I right click and paste the link as plain text yes.

If I copy and paste from notepad yes.

If I copy and paste directly from browser/youtube no.

All these little hics have appeared since the Forums went down (login timeout) and not being able to see beanZ

I've tried working out where the problem lies,,link/media/speical feature = embedded and all that stuff without success.

I'll try throwing a few switches and see if I can break the Forums,,, a bit...
