hebekie 0 Posted July 20, 2013 Me and my friend looked at some DayZ videos, and we convinced each other to buy Arma 2 to play DayZ Origins and some other mods maybe. But one of the other guys i know started saying i was dumb for buying it because of the fact that Arma 3 is coming out and the standalone too. I feel kinda stupid now, was it ok for me to buy it or did i waste my money? And are people still going to be playing DayZ on Arma 2 after the Stand Alone release? Hosty 647 Posted July 20, 2013 No, you did not. There is still weeks of time till Standalone, go practice on DayZ, Wasteland, City Life, Pakistan RP etc.Lots of mods out there, download DayZ Commander and see.I myself wasted 2000~ hours on Arma 2 + DayZ, lots of fun.
Inception. 9443 Posted July 20, 2013 There are countless mods for Arma 2 / Operation Arrowhead, most of which are fantastic. I do feel that it is definitely worth the money.
AmberHelios 2071 Posted July 20, 2013 ArmA as a game is amazing and i would recommend anyone buy it the mods and missions that are freely available will bring you hours/months/years of enjoyment. ArmA3 is good too buy them all the money you spend you will get back with enjoyment there is not many games out there that will give you so much gameplay for your money

herrjon 478 Posted July 20, 2013 It was definitely worth it, but really considering the current price, there wasn't much money to "lose" in the first place.
barrett_killz 229 Posted July 20, 2013 This is probably the most worth game for that money IMHO. So many posibilities (not talking about the DayZ mod).
King Tubbs 224 Posted July 20, 2013 if you brought it from anywhere and steam at the mo then yes
OrLoK 16186 Posted July 20, 2013 Hello there I always find these questions a little odd. Only the OP can truly feel whether he/she has wasted their cash. In comparison to the other games, A3 is not complete yet and there's no set release date for the SA (which also will not be complete), so you have a full game compared to unfinished ones. Thats a good thing IMHO. Also, as A2 is mature there are literally thousands of mods and missions available for it, as long as you can handle the "feel" of the Arma engine you'll be fine. Even if you paid full price for the game, I still think it's money well spent. Rgds LoK
HardlyThoughtOf 8 Posted July 20, 2013 You did waste your money because you shouldn't have bought combined operations! If you would have bought the complete collection you would have had better HD graphics and better models. Otherwise that's all I think you wasted your money on.
taco241 393 Posted July 20, 2013 You did well, especially if you took advantage of a steam sale. The mod, even in its current state is probably one of the best games out there right now.The SA is likely not going to be released soon (could be wrong). My feeling is that they really want to get DayZ (SA) right and are adding some surprises for us behind the scenes.Balancing, tweaking, adding new features and working out bugs always takes far longer than anticipated.Enjoy the mod. you made an excellent buy.
