DMC14 46 Posted July 3, 2013 some one told me the other day that this game was confirmed for ps4, is this true? has it been confirmed?
-Se7eN- 874 Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) if it is to come to console, it will be years down the line.i believe that's what Dean said. Edited July 3, 2013 by TMW Se7eN
Skat3rat 1633 Posted July 3, 2013 Rocket talked about bringing DayZ over to console but it is something that if it does happen, it won't happen for a while. I don't know if consoles would even be able to run DayZ. It can hardly run on a lot of computers as it is.
SmashT 10907 Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) I wouldn't call it a confirmation, Rocket said he thinks it will come to consoles at some point but that's entirely dependent on how successful the PC release is, if the PC version is unsuccessful then there wouldn't be a console port. So there's nothing set in stone, he would like to see DayZ come to consoles though and Sony is a lot more friendly towards indie titles, allowing developers to self-publish and not charging for updates. PS4 is definitely something they will look at after the PC version. Edited July 3, 2013 by SmashT
Blondedash 403 Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) the only reason really games go on console is more $$$$$ goes to the developer and what publisher would rocket choose to publish it on consoles. alot of them would probably ask though :P Edited July 3, 2013 by Blondedash
DirtyCry 118 Posted July 3, 2013 Playing dayz with controller...
Blondedash 403 Posted July 3, 2013 I think this deserve it's own post by on to the post. even though It is a horrible though I will express it I imagine the console guys crying that they don't have dayz and I just smile from the though of it. I think of the situation same as what happened to steel battalion they made the game requires less controls and turned it into a buggy mess though I imagine that won't happen here but since the game is made for k and m. also I think It kind of increases the suspense having to reach the keys and you don't press it in time. Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted July 3, 2013 Console DayZ may happen, but at what cost? Not even the SA is here yet alone completed. I get the impression a console will just explode with all the features.Would be nice for exposure (the game, not the explosion)

Dreygar (DayZ) 178 Posted July 3, 2013 Haha... stop the PC master race BS... Even an Xbox 360/PS3 can play Day Z. Also, stop the stupidity that there aren't enough controls. A controller has plenty of buttons. Remember it doesn't need to use 3 different keys to transition from prone/crouch/run/etc like a keyboard does and that goes for the rest of the controls.Your heads are so far up your stinkholes tho. I said it would remove the suspense and am saying now that it removes the difficulty which is half the fun the of dayz. GBTP 114 Posted July 3, 2013 The suspense and difficulty shouldn't come from fumbling with the controls and not hitting the right button at the right time, it should come from good programming and atmosphere. And I don't think it's fair, or appropriate, to say that playing an FPS game with a controller is retarded; I play on both console and computer and I prefer to play shooters on my console because I prefer to use a controller, for me it is both more intuitive and more accurate, having only 8 degrees of movement (q w e a s d) independent from look is archaic and cumbersome to me. It's called the gamepad. In their own testing they deemed it inferior to kb & mouse.Personally, I hope it does come out on console. If for no other reason than it would prolly be PS4. I hate Microsoft.

It has to process a large map and a large number of assets, along with multiple other players on the same map. I find it hard to believe a system that could not properly run BF3 multiplayer (had a low player cap for a reason) would be able to run DayZ. The graphics of Arma II would not a be a problem it is more a problem of having a huge map and other players that would make it impossible on the current generation of consoles. While PC is better for a host of reasons (we do not have to wait 10 years for a hardware upgrade) the next generation consoles will be able to run a game like DayZ quite easily.
Blondedash 403 Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) someone on this forum get a i3 3320 and tell me how well it performs in dayz cause that is pretty much the ps4 performance. I don't call that easily. Edited July 3, 2013 by Blondedash
GBTP 114 Posted July 3, 2013 So you prefer to have the game do your aiming? You can turn off 'Aim-Assist'I prefer using a joystick to move my character instead of 6 buttons, I don't mind using the mouse, I mind using the keyboard.

GBTP 114 Posted July 3, 2013 which type of keyboard do you have?It doesn't seem to matter what type of keyboard it is. Do you have a keyboard that replaces the Q W E A S and D keys with a joystick?
Blondedash 403 Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) It doesn't seem to matter what type of keyboard it is. Do you have a keyboard that replaces the Q W E A S and D keys with a joystick?um yeah it does a certain type of keyboard may feel bad for you and you say keyboards are bad as a whole shame on you. they aren't just made for gaming can you type in chat on xbox or ps3 nope, can you do work on a controller nope, etc. I would game on a 360 controller for just cause 2 but there just isn't enough buttons and the controls are dreadful in some situations. It's not about comfort, it's about degrees of control. Keyboard = 8; joystick = 360. Even if the game only supports one or so hundred degrees of movement Using a keyboard will only ever offer 8I don't need to type in chat when I can talk through a mic, I don't need 101 separate keys when a Dpad radial menu can utilize functionality of easily 12 commands by itself.I don't even know why you brought up doing work when we are discussing the merits of game playing.
