Pic: How a medic / health status window or tab could look like in the SA

A quick&dirty photoshop proposal for a health/medic window or tab in the inventory.

Something like this could be used when viewing an other player's health status.

So you can see (as a doctor) what kind of health problems he has got, and use your inventory or the vicinity to help him.

could add to positive player interactions.

Also: some similar window or tab could be used when viewing your own health status.

I guess there will be just texts popping up on the left side of the screen and disappear after a while. So yeah, cus of the "No HUD" policy, its pretty easy to forget if your character is hungry/thirsty/should go to poo/got cold/infected/has broken legs/experience pain/scared/or has any different sickness that would be in the game.

I wish there would be some basic HUD like that which could also be disabled if needed/wanted..

Wait....why did you take of his pants...?

While identifying injuries through visible clues is easy i doubt anyone expect highly trained specialists could find out if someone has cholera. A lot of diseases need tests just to be sure, a layman could easily mistake them for something else. A cough could be anything from a simple cold to something more serious.

The HUD will be replaced with either visual indicators or something you can hear. (Stomach growling: Hungry.)

I don't think there will be any text popping up like "lolbro u shud nom sum snacks. yo ass is 2skinny"

And from what I've heard Rocket say before, there won't be anything that tells you what exactly you're sick with, either. Every disease will have its real-life symptoms and you'll have to treat them accordingly. So I'm assuming you'll need to learn those symptoms as well.

The only thing I don't like about "audio" clues for things like hunger is you might miss them when in real life I wouldn't accidentally starve to death because I didn't hear my stomach growl. I know he wants more immersion but unfortunately we don't have all our senses in game and I feel we need just a little bit of help. I agree with the post above it should be an option to turn on and off.

There should be an option for turning it off and on, there is no way that I would hear my stomach growling when playing. And what sound are you gonna play for being thirsty? Yeah.

You can hear stomach growling pretty well, not from 50m but from quite close it's possible. For thirst how about coughing because your throat becomes too dry?

Then how would you know the difference from a thirsty cough or a sick cough?

I actually came up with an idea a while back exactly like this, but I kind of don't want it to show sickness. Having to judge your wounds by symptoms would work better.

Here was my concept (keep in mind this was based upon a mock-up of the original concept inventory shown way back at PAX):

Such ideas (yes, with similar images) were made before. I'd also like to see such a thing as well, but considering the "no HUD policy" I'd not rly expect such in SA tho.
