Softcore and Hardcore servers for Dayz Satandalone

As we can see Dayz community is divided.

There are lots of people who likes more softcore style and 2x more are hardcore players (this pool http://dayzmod.com/f...177-patch-poll/) but softcore crying babies always win.

So it would be fantastic if in Dayz Standalone I could choose either I want to play on hardcore or dumb cod stile PvP on softcore servers.

Every one will be winners - players will be able to choose their Dayz and Rocket and BIS will get their money

Also Hardcore servers could be divided on HC standard and HC role-play servers

Dayz is open world sandbox - you can do whatever you want :) it should not be announced it is already there

Since it became a Satandalone Title...I would prefer the same setting for everyone, not 100 difficulty settings. You can't make it easy to loot on easy servers then kos on the hard ones. With a certain view angle there is only one solution to even the "battlefield" for everyone...

well not 100 - it could be only two.

Look at Dayz mod - if you have played it from very beginning then you can see what it become. If "Dayz" was like this in very beginning I would never even started it cos now it dumbest shit mod ever made - there are tons of way better made PvP mods in arma2.

Well that's kind of your fault not the mod's. DayZ was never meant to be a PvP mod. It was meant to be a survival game that of course has an PvP element to it but the emphasize allways was meant to be the survival in a harsh environment aspect. And this was ALLWAYS and CLEARLY communicated by Rocket. Hence in the Standalone they put an tremendous amount of work into making the Zombies a larger threat. And rightly so. If I want to just have some fun PvP in a tactical shooter I play vanilla Arma II Multiplayer or stuff like Battlefield which do this aspect a lot better than DayZ anyways.

You can't start moaning now just because the devs are finally starting to put their work where their mouth was all of the time.

but as we can see there less then a half was moaning how hard is 1.7.7. and after 2 weeks there is "hot fix" out (1.7.7.1) and guess what there is no survival elements whatsoever only dumb PvP again

Dayz SA will come out as Alpha again and there will be loots of community wishes/demands till final stage. If they could not stand now in mod against babies then they will not be able to stand against then on Dayz SA development too

The only problem with this statement is the mod devs care what the community thinks. Rocket isn't developing the mod. He is developing the SA. Trust me he's not going to pander to "babies".

Unfortunatly i came into the game quite late but i still got to know how it was not to shoot anyone you encounter no matter what. The majority of our group turned to pvp since they were bored and whined each time they lost their gear. A small group including me still went the survival path until the pvp got out of hand. I hope the difficulty of the SA will keep most of the pvpers away.

For initial release there should be universal settings across the board, later when they allow private servers and what not then let the community fuck with everything.

I agree entirely .

There is no reason there can't be several settings to play on , with harder settings disabling third person ( easily the worst mechanic in the game by a long way ) , crosshairs etc , and making life tougher in general .

Ehhh, I'm not a fan of allowing what some would call "easy mode" servers, at least for the first little while, for a few reasons.

Mainly because when I go on DayZ Commander the amount of "vanilla" servers versus the stereotypical "spawn with sniper/1000 vehicle" type servers is very low.

I think DayZ should concentrate on being a good game first and foremost. Allowing people to significantly change the entire thing can ruin the experience.

On the other hand there's definitely a time and place for PvP "spawn with rifle" servers, as well as a demand for them - look how popular they are.

Still, on balance it would be nice if everyone was given the same options. I don't want to see 3000 "spawn with rifle" servers and only 250 "vanilla standalone" servers when it launches.

I also don't think things like (the default ArmA 2) crosshairs or player nametags have much of a place in DayZ or ArmA whatsoever. Tags especially. The game is more engaging without them... sure I usually play servers with crosshairs and sometimes even ones with tags, usually because they have a low ping and a lot of players.

It would be nice if every server with a low ping and a lot of players didn't also have tags and crosshairs because they weren't presented as an option.

Yes dumb cod players (not all cod players are dumb) would all ways kill me in warz (I know Its a sin) because they want to be pro and don't and dont "have time" to type with there key board,so I think a way to get the pvp players out of the game would be cool.

Hopefully this will be implemented, all I see on the DayZMod server list is '500+ Vehicles, Spawn with an AS50 and Unlimated Ammo'
