Pistol damage is STILL broken

m1911/revolvers still don't one-two bodyshot kill

I can still shoot people twelve times with them before they start to even show symptoms of a possible flesh wound.

thought 1.7.7 patched this?

They're supposed to kill in 1-2 shots? Well, damn! Didn't know they were meant to be that powerful.

2-3 shots would be nice, though.

And yes they're still broken; takes 1 million shots to kill anything.

I think 100% headshot is the only way a zombie apocalypse game should be. I think it would be nice to see a game where zombies lose limbs, or become injured to a point, but don't die unless hit in the head.

Edit to the title of your topic: "Pistol damage is still broken" AND ALWAYS WILL BE.

And yes they're still broken; takes 1 million shots to kill anything.

Hell, even a 9mm realistically will kill better than the 45's do in this game. It's messed up. I really wish I could defend myself with a pistol instead of spamming shots hoping to get a headshot on someone. It really is ridiculous.

In the SA, when weapons are their own entities, I can at least fuck up someone's AR by emptying a clip into the receiver or barrel.

For me, a 4 or 5 shot kill pistol is perfect. Say they took the damage up to 2.5K per shot, they would be much more effective as actual weapons.

No, but you have to admit emptying an entire clip of a M1911 into someones chest and having them run away like nothing happened is retarded.

I shot a guy with AK, he passed out. Got closer to finish him, stil took 2 clips of M9SD to get the "guy was killed" text.

Didnt just unload on him, shot him 3 times and waited, that 3 again and waited..always hit him so it shoved blood.

Tho i did have some 200 ping, that could be it.

Hahaha, headshots.

Good luck with that. Unless you funnel the zombies in one of the long barns, you're going to have a bad time trying to pull off a series of effective headshots with the twitchy animation zombies have. If you're outside, god help you.

The only reliable way to kill zombies anymore is with an axe.

Nothing happening after putting 7 rounds from an M1911 is a bit of exaggeration. Thats at least 7000-8000 blood - The equiv of a DMR shot.

Think of it this way - Currently all player models are wearing a tactical vest of some kind. That would be able to stop a 9mil (The hero vest will absorb it entirely) or (Maybe) a 45. If you hit the leg the leg breaks in game already - if you hit the head they die. Due to the limitations of the engine we can't have broken arms.

I think this falls under the "Authenticity, not realism" category.

I have fantastic aim in all shooters and I have more of a hard time head shotting zombies in this than almost anything in recent memory (it reminds me of trying to aim in RE4 for the first time back when I was fifteen)

I do occasionally get fast headshots in this on sprinters, but it's rarely in succession, and it's usually with the glock because that thing is amazing and the other pistols are piss. So I just have to chuckle at the people who go 'lol you must not headshot them'

They have already tried to patch this out of the arma 2 beta themselves, it's just that the current DayZ update is broken an didnt actually fix it.
