geogeorgegeo@hotmail.co.uk 50 Posted June 22, 2013 Yes I had a searing feeling of guilt once.I saw a guy in elektro firestation shooting zombies (he had quite a lot of kit) I had a hatchet out. I decided to put it in my toolbelt 'cus I knew there were all these people whining about killing unarmed players. I preceded to run towards him, he talked to me in direct chat, protecting me from a load of following zombies. I had a bigger backpack on me so I decided to tell him he could have it. I dropped it on the ground, he leaned down to try and pick it up. I ran behind him, took out my hatchet and killed him. Finally, in direct chat, he said "Arhh you fu-" then he died. His tone of voice was so distressing, I felt incredibly guilty. Even now I feel like saying sorry.I guess he learnt that day to trust no-one, not even unarmed players. WBK 176 Posted June 23, 2013 Two main things I regret, both happened today.First: letting my guard down completely for the first time ever. I was playing after work, absolutely pooped. I put no value on my life; I ran up to two different groups in Solnichniy across open fields. My intentions were good - I wanted to help get them away from zombies - but my behaviour was that of a madman. Luckily, both groups were actually friendly. I then hung around with the second on top of the roof of the second tallest building in the factory north of Solnichniy. In other words, I was complete sniper fodder for anyone who knows the area. Again, I was lucky enough to not get killed somehow. My stupidity finally caught up with me though. Minutes after leaving the second group, I was running west up the hill near the factory when I saw two players getting chased by a zombie. I didn't even talk to them in chat, I just killed a zed, put a bandage on, and as I was bandaging myself one of them hacked me with his machete. I didn't even feel bad about dying, I knew I deserved it.Second: I respawned at Three Valleys, pretty close to where I died. So I thought I'd look for the survivors that killed me. After stocking up with a few weapons, I found two players outside the factory again, with what appeared to be my gear (one had a revolver, the other an Enfield). With about 3000 health and an infection, I managed to shoot one of them with my new revolver enough for him to require bandaging. They couldn't see me, so they just ran north towards Berezino. I followed them, because I was sure these were the people that killed me. So I was chasing them in the forest, from a distance of about 200m. They were pretty dumb, right next to each other and obviously not looking back because they would've seen me otherwise. Then they started shooting some zeds with the dinner bell - at this point I had about 1500 health so I thought I might as well kill them because I'm dying anyway. I ducked behind a tree, and (it was quite a good shot, might I say), with vision blurred and pulsing and shaking, managed to headshot one of them from about 50m. Then the other one flanked me and killed me, and I realised that she was a girl - it was two men who killed me originally. So yeah, first ever kill completely unprovoked, and in cold blood. Pretty average form by me tonight.
kingkrabbe.#bof 35 Posted June 23, 2013 (edited) Yes, I played on Namalsk for the first time and found some amazing weapons (DMR) very quickly but no food or drinks. So as I was slowly starving to death, I came across a lonely survivor in some kind of military outpost who seemed to be friendly - at least he didn't shot at me in close combat. But I was scared by him and run into nearby woods and made it on a hill with a view over that outpost. The lonely survivor was looting a tower at this moment and I had the urge to shoot him because he was very exposed on that tower and maybe he might have some food which could save my life. So I shot him with my DMR (no clean sniping, took me several shots (around 10) with him passing out and breaking his legs). When I got on that tower to loot his corpse I realised that he must have been recently spawned since he hadn't any food himself. It was my only murder so far (not counting self defence kills) and I felt shady the moment I decided to snipe him. Knowing that the murder was totally unnecessary makes me regret it even more. Edited June 23, 2013 by kingkrabbe.#bof
