wopperberger 0 Posted June 20, 2013 I am trying to play DayZ at max visibility and every time I hit confirm and find a server, the visibility sets itself to 1000 instead of the 10000. And I can't change it in game for some reason. I have to always go to the main menu to change it. Any help? I am very lost. Thanks! :)
-Gews- 7443 Posted June 20, 2013 That's strange. However most if not all servers have locked visibility settings.
wopperberger 0 Posted June 20, 2013 Well, I don't even need to be on a server. I change the setting, hit multiplayer then hit cancel and it brings me back to 1000 visibility. I am using DayZ commander if that helps. I also un installed and re installed both Arma's

If somebody could do that, I would appreciate it.) Edited June 20, 2013 by Dancing.Russian.Man

wopperberger 0 Posted June 20, 2013 Okay but what do I change?
wopperberger 0 Posted June 20, 2013 Well I didn't know what to change so I went into both ARMA .cfg files and changes the max frames ahead to 10000. Was that correct? If so, it didn't work.
SmashT 10907 Posted June 20, 2013 (edited) The view distance is locked by the server at 1500 I believe. No matter what you change it to it will be locked. Do a search on DayZCommander for "view" and you might find a couple that have increased it. Edited June 20, 2013 by SmashT
wopperberger 0 Posted June 20, 2013 Well I don't know if this helps, but this problem only occurs on DayZ. Not ARMA 2 or ARMA 2: OA
SmashT 10907 Posted June 20, 2013 Well I don't know if this helps, but this problem only occurs on DayZ. Not ARMA 2 or ARMA 2: OAYes, it's locked specifically on DayZ.

SmashT 10907 Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) So no 10000 only 1500? That sucks. Thank you for the help though! :DWell there are some servers that have increased it, probably not many though for performance and balance reasons. Dancing.Russian.Man 1631 Posted June 21, 2013 Well I don't know if this helps, but this problem only occurs on DayZ. Not ARMA 2 or ARMA 2: OAYeah, that would completely change the subject. Your files are fine.
