princeboo85 0 Posted June 10, 2013 We now know that the DayZ Standalone will be running on a modified version of the ARMA 3 engine. With that power the makers of the various different maps in the game, like Taviana, should all come together to put the all the maps into one. I can't be the only one who thinks this, right? Jasmer 77 Posted June 10, 2013 .... The New chernarus map has added maps together Chernarus and Utes.

Death_Dealer 3155 Posted June 10, 2013 huge maps would mean huge amount of content. zombies, loot, textures, gamers --> lagThis.Unless you want those pesky frame rate drops, I don't think we'll get any bigger than Chernarus+. IMO Chernarus is already a good size. From the looks of it they're adding a second island below Utes, so I wouldn't worry about the map being too small.
Walking Wounded 199 Posted June 10, 2013 I agree chernarus is big enough. Even on a server with 40+ players regular it is easy to dissapear in it.

If we yell at them, they will be turned away from the game, and we don't want that. but if we educate them, they will appreciate our friendliness and will play the game in a good way. Everyone wins and all it took was a little tolerance :D :beans: :beans: :beans: :beans: :beans:EDIT FOR SPELLING Edited June 11, 2013 by Vindicator
Walking Wounded 199 Posted June 11, 2013 (edited) Where might we put said skyscraper ? <_< :facepalm:Pick any one of a thousand cities worldwide that has them. The future of Dayz is not restricted to chernarus or the arma engine. Maybe it is time you consider what is outside the box? Blondedash 403 Posted June 11, 2013 225 square kilometres isn't enough is it, if you want 400 square kilometres without loading screens play just cause 2 hehe. skyscrapers them selves are possible jc2 did it but enterable would be damn hard.

Maybe it is time you consider what is outside the box?skyscrapers do not suddenly appear in cities. You have to deal with more or less major cities with let's say 400k upwards (european "standard" estimation) and/or at least with a huge agglomeration. As long as we can't deliver massively large cities, skyscrapers simply do not fit in imho. Edited June 11, 2013 by joe_mcentire
Cain42 18 Posted June 11, 2013 however...maybe at some point various maps as instances, where you can "travel" from one to the other and vice versa. It vould be cool to import your charactert to diferent map that way

Obviously we could have skyscrapers in other maps, but from his post it looked like he wanted a skyscraper in Chernarus. It would be completely out of place.
