de4dcert 246 Posted June 5, 2013 why does everyone assume that nobody knows what a alpha or beta is :rolleyes:i have tested games for close to 15 years and used to be a actual paid games tester  i still do test many games and i know plenty of devs aswell. so i fully understand what a alpha is thanks.arma 3 is bad. its just like most modern gamess they trying to spoon feed you everything as if you dont know how to play or if you slightly retarded. this kills gaming and fun very quickly you need a bit of this and that either side. windows 8 generation of gamers tbh.I see then if you knew what an alpha really was you should accept that it can be nowhere near the final product and is at least a year away from a final product minus time already passed. I thought as a showcase I could get my hands on it was not too bad. Lots of potential.

St. Jimmy 1631 Posted June 5, 2013 lol at fanboys if people think arma 3 hasnt been used in standalone just lolas for do i know what a alpha is ? sure i been testing video games and selling them since birth :lol:arma 2 feels like a pc gamearma 3 feels like a console gameguess well see this month when standalone launches.Wow you're really hating Arma 3. Arma 3 lighting and fluid movement are already so big improvements that I don't want to touch Arma 2. I can't see what makes Arma 3 a console game unless you don't like the movement speeds but those will be tweaked. Also sound engine is much better so there will be much better sounds. OrLoK 16185 Posted June 5, 2013 Hello thereI'm missing something. What's so wrong with A3? I'm confused.Essentially its an improvement on A2, why is that a bad thing? Where is this "hand holding"? Im completely lost.Give me some reasoning, rather than "its a let down" etc etc..RdgsLoK

Bestadamire 8 Posted June 5, 2013 I personally enjoy it! Vanilla tdm is mostly what ive been playing lately. The wasteland is kind of lame and their arent much map varietions, but i do find it fun to play!
Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted June 5, 2013 (edited) I don't think I'm very well today. I'm reading threads as usual but nothings making sense. How on Gods sweet earth is Arma 3 not a vast improvement over Arma 2, even at this early stage? I don't see the issues with movement, I fail to see where the "dumbed down" hand-holding is, I just can't see these issues at all and I'm really trying to.The graphics and sound are leagues ahead of Arma 2, the guns handle better, and the content on the way (especially Altis) is looking amazing, so far the AI looks improved, it's far better in terms of optimisation, the list goes on. In almost every area of the game I can think of I see improvements, so much so that I can't go back to Arma 2 now. Is everyone smoking crack today?I think I'll go for a lie down. St. Jimmy 1631 Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) Very hard to understand how on earth Arma 3 movement is so bad that people rather play Arma 2. This is the first time I can move inside buildings without running against the wall all the time. The movement and stance adjustments are so much better now and not just 1/0 binary adjustments what makes Arma 2 so clunky. Of course nothing does prevent you not to use those new features and play like in Arma 2. Only negative about the new movement is that crouched run is bit too fast and fatigue hasn't been tweaked enough but I see that those will change. And thank god the negative mouse acceleration is off by default. Edited June 6, 2013 by St. Jimmy
dgeesio 1034 Posted June 6, 2013 too me graphics and sound better that is all.quick question jimmy you flew a heli yet ? how was the remote control :lol:imagine the awesomeness of flying a heli how awe beholding it would be then go try it on arma 3 it like getting in a 9 dollar remote control kids heli . absolutely terribad. thats just another eg.if the devs want to really listen stop spoon feeding people. its a windows 8 kinda game noonereally wants it but it looks kinda better but isnt.make the movements fast and fluid i dont need my body to do like transformer movements just up and down fast fluid jumps that dont look like im a gayer.just up and over and gone in the least fancy way popssible.see a target dont need double up or whatever fancy aim just right click bang.so many devs trying to be fancy and miss the simple basics that make great games. you dont need 38 buttons to get a 48 degree lean just forget that shit and concentrate on fast fluid movements.this is why i mentioned i hope it wasnt in the standalone becuase the same guy doing the movements is doing standalone ive watched a few leaked videos and the movement in many of them is still terrible in early and later builds (some videos are pretty recent builds ) . one guy for eg could even walk in a door forwards wtf ! Playing wasteland I feel the pain of only having 3 different stances. If you go into one of the big bunkers, you'll notice that if you're kneeling, you're to low to shoot over the edge, and if you're standing up, you are extremely open to being shot from every angle, there is no mid ground like there is in Arma 3. You aren't forced to use the extra movements/stances, they are there for when you need them. Trust you lot to complain when the devs give you something extra. Arma 2's light helicopter's are as easy to pilot and fast responsive.Nohing still doesn't force you to use new stances. You can lean with Q&A, you don't need to use ctrl+q,w,e,a,s,d just normal q,e,z,x is enough to adjust your stances in Arma 2 and now there's even one less button c (very clever decision) that is used for combat jog or jog. One of the biggest thing is you can now move bit faster when aiming and you don't need to wlk slowly like in Arma 2. Of course you cant hit that well in combat pace but I think it's pretty realistic accuracy. In Arma 3 you can shoot say faster if you're running because just one click on right mouse button brings sights and you don't walk awkard slowly. If I understood you like it in Arma 3 way than and I hope it'll be pretty much the same in standalone. If you're complaining about that you might need to hold a button to raise a weapon I can understand that because I don't like it either how it sounds. In leaked videos the movement seems to be pretty much what we have in Arma 2. I hope it changes more to thd Arma 3 way.
beelzebossi@hotmail.com 28 Posted June 6, 2013 Arma 3 has way better controls, graphics, animations and Standalone is going to be crippled by older engine. Next week i expect some SA video material from E3, i hope they are ready with latest build or its going to be delayed.
