SA Suggestion: Making An Effort

Recommended Posts

How about vehicles then? You all have convinced me on the guns, but what about many, broken vehicles?

On the one hand i like how in the mod vehicles are a rare find, but it would make sense that vehicles were all over the place,

Also to consider theres been suggestions that as players do things like repair vehicles they will get better at it,

With that in mind you could make it that the majority of vehicles are in such a bad state that its impossible for the average player to fully repair, they can salvage parts but maybe the hull/chassis is too heavily damaged to get going without experience,

This would mean we have lots of vehicles spread accross the map but finding a good one still takes a lot of time and luck.

Hello there

You'd be surprised how quickly *things* fall apart when they are not looked after, Its less long than you think.

IHMO salvageable vehicles should be rare and *then* one should have to toil long and hard to get them in a working state. If I meet someone with a working revolver I want to be "wow! that guys got a working gun AND ammunition!".

Isn't it the case with vehicles already?

I agree with the weapon idea but. Having to scavenge different parts from broken weapons to create a working weapon sounds cool.

A cool game mechanic but fails some realism aspects based on:

Not so much, my 91/30 Nagant was dragged all over WWII then thrown into storage for 60 years, bought by me, cleaned of the cosmoline and it fires like a boss, the AKM's left over by the russian in the sand box work to this day, with little to no care given to them. Working fire arms won't be an issue.

I'm not sure sure. It's pretty clear to me, from what Rocket has said, that cars are going to be a fairly major part of the standalone. The new repair system and customization system seem to prove this to me.

It should be too hard to find a working vehicle. It's just keeping it working that might be tough.
