Selectable spawn points for cherno?

Gooday all, I was wondering if anyone knows if selectable spawn points we be added in the SA? Or maybe modded in, to ease the annoyance of spawning miles away from a friend, yesterday I spawned in kamenka and my friend near the lumber mill. After an hour of running towards each my fiend got killed just as we both arrived in cherno, we both raged an quit. Spawn points in origins are so much better I hope someone can answer if this is planned.

If a god exists, that will never happen. And even if a god doesnt exist, I sure hope it wont happen anyway.

It'd probably have to involve a map of some kind - which would be something you'd have to find ingame, and not be able to look at prior to playing - otherwise it detracts from the whole experience it's trying to create.

The idea is that you're washed up on a beach with nothing, and you're meant to find your location and discover all these little finite details as you get to grips with the game. Having a choice of spawn points would detract from that.

It wouldnt fit the spirit of DayZ (as Blondedash said, too casual).

Oh, and if you both got killed in Cherno, maybe you should practise in Arma bootcamp for a while...

Origins has 6 selectable spawn points with survival percentages, selection one with a low percentage would be much more enjoyable when meeting up with friends, as for being "too casual" that's a load of nonsense why would anyone want to spend hours running through towns just to meet up? And why would all survivors wash up on the coast?

they're only trying to help, being rude isn't going to solve anything. I don't know why you guys chose to try and meet up in Chernogorsk, even if you are good at the game you can still get killed fairly easily if there's a lot of people there. Thing is a lot of new people just go straight there or elektro and get killed and they wonder why, that's probably why you were told to go practice.

As for the spawn idea it just doesn't fit with DayZ, you're meant to be thrown into an apocalyptic no-mans land with nothing and start from there. If you can choose where you spawn it would make the game easier and that is frowned upon here. (Spawn near friends, spawn near good loot areas etc)

You should play separately and get some gear and possibly a vehicle first before running to meet up. If you vaguely run towards each other across the map while playing the game along the way it's much better than spawning and running directly to each other with no gameplay.

It's supposed to be a survival sim, it's not always about what you want to do but what you have to do to survive.

A 'group spawn' option might be implemented in the standalone, where you and any friends that are spawning as new characters have the option to spawn together but I highly doubt that you will ever be able to select your spawn point.

it is the dayz experience people like it. no time to go to your friend too bad play another game like cod if you want fast pace dace is slow paced.

It's not about where we meet up, it's the distance between both or spawns, and yes maybe they are trying to help but a condescending tone and non elaborate replies, just feels like there being arses

I would make running back to your body too easy. Its bad enough in Origins, and should be taken out. Also I don't ever see it being implemented for the SA, since it would ruin the sence of loneliness, not knowing where you are. Have patience, don't rage, use your feet God knows you will need them in SA with no vehicles (at least on release).

I think it would not be funny when I and my friends... maybe 20 people spawn at same location. 20 vs two guys is not fun. It´s ok how it is. It is fun how it is. Meeting the friends is part of the game. I don´t believe that DayZ SA support this. Think about balancing.

Well this isn't going anywhere, you pretty much derailed your own topic bringing up anyones post count that responds. Locked.

I doubt you will ever be able to choose your spawn point. Rocket has touched on groups/friends being one of their key design priorities but said they need to explore how this mechanic will work and not disrupt the disorientation that occurs on death.
