The best Dayz tip you have ever heard

Recommended Posts

Best advice I've heard or seen:

Always act as if someone has a pair of eyes on you, act accordingly

First thing you should do when you spawn in is find a hatchet.

Set up one or more tents near the coastline, stock them with matches, compasses, maps, hunting knives, water bottles, binos, etc etc. After Death, its a short trip to your tent and your ready to go without HAVING to go into a dangerous city to supply.

Go into Arma2 armory and practice basic vehicle driving, and helo flying. You'll be ready to go the first time you come across someones hidden carpark, landing pad.

DONT kill unarmed spawns on the coast, Kill count is only impressive if its raised against real threats.

Should you find a vehicle and have the materials to get it running: never drive a vehicle over any type of bridge - unless you don't value your vehicle and your life. (really hope that is fixed in sa)

Also, should you flip an atv onto its side, you can unflip it by pointing its wheels to the sky and driving in reverse. Sometimes it takes a long time, other times its quick, but it always works - unless you've got objects obstructing your movement. If you get off of a flipped atv, you can not get back on.

When landing choppers, autohover is your friend.

Only ATV's have problems with bridges.......and docks, stay away from the docks.

Do not bother trying to find the hospital if you end up breaking your legs w/o morphine.

"This is how you gather tree for campfire. Follow me... now walk to that tree, open inventory menu, click 'harvest wood..."

*sound of axe hitting to my head*

One of the best: DUPLICATE

You'll allways be geared like a robocop :P

I personnaly use 3 favourite Low populated servers and settle tents in tsome hidden places of Elektro and Cherno.

As I kill and loot dead bodies in highly populated servers in these towns, I only have to hop back to one of my 3 tent servers in order to store the stuff.

"Don't go over the bridge! Don't go over the bridge!"

Goes over the bridge.

You sure this is logic?

Kill or be killed. Just because he's running the other way and doesn't look like a threat, that doesn't mean that he wont turn around for whatever reason, end up coming behind you and shooting you.

Shoot him first so that doesn't happen.

If you're thinking im trying to advocate any particular playstyle then you're mistaken,

I was simply saying theres a lot of exploits/bugs in DayZ (many of which i have abused in over the year of playing) and taking advantage of these exploits only serves to break the game even further,

sure you can have the attitude of everyone else is doing it why shouldnt i?

But in my personal opinion the game is better if you can resist the urge to go the easy route by abusing the games less than perfect mechanics.

I fail at this often but i still try.

If you give a player a loophole to jump through to make life easier, they are going to use that hoop for all its worth. The problem with this community is that you guys are like "Well, we know the loophole exists... and we all hate the hoop, can you please quit jumping through the loop, because we aren't jumping through the loop anymore and its unfair that you are."

The only FAIR thing to do for both sides is to remove the loophole altogether... that way no one can jump through it to make life easier.... while it may make the game more enjoyable for you personally to make it harder on yourself... other people that see the loopholes are going to use them, and that puts you at a disadvantage that isn't even supposed to be part of the game.

That is the only true and fair solution to the problem... fix the bugs, glitches, and loopholes... and then religiously hunt and ban hackers.
