It sickens me when they drink without cleaning the water first!If you don't know how all you need is-a campfire-dirty water (from ponds ect.)-empty tin canIt is as simple as having some water in your inventory and scrolling on your fire and selecting the optionSimple as! It tastes much like normal water, just a bit oilier. The bad stuff is the muddy puddles - I took a sip once and was spitting out grains of sand for quite a while.
