sav112g 114 Posted April 14, 2013 Most of the static stems from not having nothing to talk about. Some would say I’m more fortunate not playing any version or have played any version due to buying a new PC rig later in the year to that of my trusty 2004 Pc I’m on right now.I got more excited for you guys as I thought it would be out by now and I’d enjoy watching like I have done players play on Twich. When they announced they were not going the easy route and just making the Mod better but an actual game with everything improved I was pleased. Its amazing how much mileage even the slightest game detail gets. I’m sure we will go from this to be bombarded with info.Still puzzled by the “ we will see in June where we are at with the game”Is that when a decision on release will be made or if the game will need a lot more work. If it means better Hacker/scripter defence and better FPS I’m all for time being spent. But it would be nice to get some new news as we are dry here as it were. ZlobaRUS54 441 Posted April 14, 2013 Wow the old "don’t moan" chess nut that has been produced time and time again, Serious yawn! I think its less a real moan and more a laugh with the in joke about its Fridays so its another blog right.I think if anyone has an issue it’s with the fact a Blog was brought in to keep us interested and informed. Why a weekly one was suggested at the start everyone can attain was unprofessional when there was nothing to back it up. Simply put the community started thinking the developers must be organised to release information now or why suggest a weekly occurrence you know you cant fulfil. Yet it was done,So this latest Mini Blog a mere morsel to stop the restless natives, I’d rather they said “Right the whole Blog every week was farcical we know now, so to stop the community getting disappointed week after week we will now give a days notice of any new news to be released to the community”I too think Dean has less control over this game now, I think a developer woke up to the fact a mere side complement of one of their older games could be a nice money spinner. The whole December silent running by Dean suggests to me a huge transitional period was in swing if he liked it or not.We just all hope for the same thing a Game that does not short change our enthusiasm for it. The game appeals to me for not being a kiddie consol shooter for a start and game you can play for hours on one life with real tension building. Having something to discuss would be great too.I think Bohemia has not realized they have accidentally stumbled upon pure gold here. It's sad to see they are looking at it as just some extra income that can be milked from an older engine. I strongly suspect a case of NIH syndrome within BiS management. DazTroyer 227 Posted April 14, 2013 (edited) @sav112 - So you choose to comment on what you've never played in the hope of shedding light on the Standalone for the rest of us here. My, that is very noble of you. I understand the "see where we are in June" to mean exactly that, in June when Rocket is back the team meets and discusses where they are with the world or more importantly the standalone. Now I've obviously no idea how that works or any of the details, I'm not a game dev after all. It's seems the biggest sticking point will be the server architecture, if that's stable enough to do what they want. The 1000 or so testing should be helping with that. If it's June or not, there really isn't much we can do or say about it, is there. Hopefully we will have a few more chunks of info by then so we can all have something interesting to talk about. :) Edited April 14, 2013 by DazTroyer

They would do the typical EA "I DONT CARE IF ITS NOT FINSIHED AND SHIT, RELEASE IT." Bohemia has always cared about their customers. Also, ArmA 2 has a great engine, but its not perfect for DayZ. Hence the Dev teams reworking of it.

roykingtree 125 Posted April 14, 2013 Cheers, I believe I missed that video!I am taking a break for a while from the MOD, Will be waiting patiently in the meantimeThis is my plan as well, I don't want to spoil my SA experience by becoming sick of DayZ Mod. There's only so many times you can feel enjoyment from getting fully geared and killing players :P.
paiik 7 Posted April 14, 2013 I ditch the mod like two months ago, want to forget all about dayz so when SA comes out its going to be the same exitement as year ago....

I strongly suspect a case of NIH syndrome within BiS management. It's better to work on a known engine than making an new one, you can do a lot with RV3 or 4, you would be surprise. To me it's the right direction to start with a proper base like they are doing now.
