Not really. I drink from my canteen that was filled at a water pump and exactly 60 seconds after I drink it says I'm thirsty. Even when I'm doing nothing but standing around.

Very excited to see what they've been doing. The only thing I could see to make it faster to loot things is if you can just right click something and it automatically does things based on what the item is. Example would be clothing auto equip when right clicked. But I don't think that's the way rocket would want to go with DayZ. Part of the danger of looting stuff is that it takes awhile. As for the networking I would hope rocket and the development team takes as long as it's necessary to make sure it's right. The idea I get from what I've heard of the networking it's MMOish. And there is some proof to what happens when companies get it wrong out there. Early days of of most major MMOs have some great examples of what happens if the communication between the player's computer and the server they're connecting to have problems.

It might. I thought of one thing that could keep it going though: "Survivor Gamez" Without the ability to use some script the Gamez will disappear. I wonder if rocket would on down the development line on the SA would add something to facilitate something like the Gamez?

I would also like to thank everyone for recommending Gimp. I've been looking for a good photo editing program for a long time. Thought I would have to shell out all that money for PS to get anything. This is a great alternative. I do have a question though but not related to photo editing but video editing. Specifically related to editing different video files together. FLV files. Is there a free program like Gimp that does this for video editing? Sorry I'll make my own thread if you want me to mods. :|

Don't know the total reasons. I came into DayZ about 2 weeks after the fallout happened. I just know that a lot of complaints was on the forums from it. Rocket said what happened. It maybe in the announcement forum. I remember seeing a post about it and Rocket said he didn't want to talk about it anymore. The closest to a single player now is to make your own private server that is not connected to the official hive.

Used to be one. But a disagreement between rocket and the maker of the singleplayer lead to it's discontinue.

The I guess we won't see you for Standalone either. What with there being no Debug Monitor in the Standalone.

I said Yes No Yes. Clothing should be something like a hat or something along those lines. Now Rocket did say he was working on a CE for the Standalone and had many ideas and if they come through it would be epic. This should be somewhere in the AMA on Reddit he did this week.
