agulot 0 Posted April 5, 2013 SO I have see people "hoard" vehicles, and one thing I noticed, is the vehicles "move" from the spot parked. For instance. get a BUS and blow out it's tires. couple restarts later, is it still in the same spot? How can a vehicle with NO tires possibly move?Someone please explain? Is this only on slopes? or can it happen anywhere? does it happen to only vehicles without tires?I'd like to know.
blc (DayZ) 0 Posted April 5, 2013 I'm guessing the location stored in the database is not perfect, so on restart the bus moves a little... I don't know for sure though, maybe someone else will chime in.
-Se7eN- 874 Posted April 5, 2013 hackers. they move it.generally if something really odd has happened, like a bus with no wheels moving, its either a hacker has om nom nomed it, or a bug with dayz/server has occurred.
Imafighter 236 Posted April 5, 2013 You guys didn't understand his post. Its because the admins probably respawned it, because they didn't like you blowing their bus up.Or the server is just buggy.
marko4231 57 Posted April 5, 2013 Vehicles move a bit on every restart. thats anoying like hell espacialy when you park it in a bush and a day later it moves out in the open and anybody can see it.Also vehicles with seriously damaged parts sometime respawn ofter a couple days if nobody uses them, i had one repaired and one badly damaged car in my base, i drove the repaired one and used the wrecked one for storage. It vanished after a few days (i didnt put anything in or take anything from it for a few days), i went back to where i first found it and it was there again, freshly spawned.P.s. i hope that in SA it will be posible to customize a car. like repaint it or something and especialy mount a lock on it :)
Zombie Jesus 723 Posted April 5, 2013 I always shoot out tires to make it harder to steal a hidden vehicle and on slopes they usually end up sliding down. When you first shoot them out they typically slide a little and maybe on restart the vehicles do the same thing. I parked a offroad pickup in black forest about 15 meters from the tree line on a hill and when I came back two days later it was about 20 meters down the hill in a clearing. badluckburt 974 Posted April 5, 2013 When you go into the Arma editor, place yourself or an object somewhere and then preview, I think the game runs a check to see if there's enough space. The check's a bit off sometimes, especially when there's alot of trees or other stuff around. And sometimes, vehicles don't stay still, the other day I rammed a car into a house and it kept making those collision noises which is a sign it's still moving so I got the hell out of there, sure it was gonna blow. Kerbo 198 Posted April 6, 2013 (edited) Its because the admins probably respawned it, because they didn't like you blowing their bus up.I can unequivocally state that the admin did not, in fact, move the bus.I blame it on the zombies. They get bored when there is no one to eat so they move the vehicles around. It's strange that they always move them downhill. I wonder why they do that? Saethkept 134 Posted April 6, 2013 Also, pine trees are vehicle magnets.
arkaeldren 53 Posted April 6, 2013 Strange how no one has mentioned the ATV's on crack... they "never" stay where you leave them.
monoking 22 Posted April 6, 2013 When i used to have my own public server. It used to do the same after some crashes or restarts. There seems to be some delay in saving or skipping that cause it to spawn in old spot.
