What to do after you have the best gear?

Recommended Posts

Everything in game? You mean a hatchet? Currently working on 1,000 zombie-kills with a hatchet!

You wait until you get to 999 and then get AS50'd.......

Uhm...

Just play? I don't understand people's stupidities... You can:

-Find and repair a vehicle.

-Go helping people you encounter by giving them blood transfusions

-Go killing people

-Try to disarm players and interact with them

-Try to infiltrate in a clan with 6+ people

...

Lotsa options!

You die and get it all again.

No but really, when you got all that gear you've got multiple choices;

1. Kill yourself.

2. Waste all your ammo on infected.

3. Bundle up and give out gear to new people.

Lots of other stuff.

1. What the?

2. For what reason?

3. The majority of people will kill you when you try to help you or kill you after you've helped them, a few will simply avoid you. Maybe a couple would thank you and ask to join your adventures or simply leave.

I've never had anyone kill me after I helped them. Most players seem like they either shoot on sight, make pleasentries and move on or will team up for a bit.

Well what have we done so far...

- Established a helicopter shuttle service

- Provided transport and security for Dr. Wasteland medics

- Had a gay party on the rooftops of Cherno with thousands of chem lights & flares (dance command!)

- Captured a freshspawn near Solnichy and made him to choose: Jump down the cliff (20m) or run away and die

- Tried to make our NWA strategy perfect

- Trying to improve on our tactial play as a group (ongoing process :D )

- Searched for interesting sniping spots at all major areas

- Meeting new people

- Playing alone from time to time

- Playing on some custom maps, mainly Namalsk for some "action-DayZ" or DayZ+

- Making a break from DayZ from time to time

ah and for the future:

- Now that parachuting works properly I could imagine a nice helicopter-based killing spree

good question...

there are not many good goals for endgame... :/ - nothing

Respectfully disagree. The game doesn't hold your hand and create endgame if thats what you mean, But its a sandbox game, so the point is its up to you how you play endgame.

Repair a vehicle and become a taxi with runs between electro and cherno (on my list of want to do)

Go bandit hunting......go Hero hunting

Go be an explorer, find something near the fringes of the map you've never seen before.

Build a base of operations, stockpile tents and supplies, defend it from thiefs

Be a thief and go looking for peeps tents to loot

Try and get a huge train of Zeds, then stop in an alley and try to survive the attack.

Kill Zeds.

Fix up vehicles or helos and give them away to Bambis on the coast.

Fill up Backpacks with toilet paper and leave them in a firestation. Giggle at the remarks over sidechat.

If you normally group with peeps...Lonewolf it, and vice a versa

Be protector of the new spawns on the coast

Whatever you do please leave the new spawns alone, Go after someone thats a challenge to you. Killing Bambis is not very sporting :P

My point is get creative

Where can you find these medics? I've yet to see them on any server I've been on.

Would also like to find that Trading Company

We had one of these medics as a customer of our shuttle service.

As we always invited our guests to TS we became aquinted and

flew several missions for them later on.

For a real challenge, of recent I play on the DayZ Mercenary servers. The roaming death squad NPC's with TOP-tier weaponry/gear are a blast....literally... to fight. They're meaner than any player, and have no limit to their ammo it seems. So far I've fought a few squads (I died) and managed to kill only one entirely (6 NPCs) by myself and it was great fun.

Put a really great spot for a tent put all your gear in the tent and run into new spawn area and see how it goes, see what you end up with and head back to your tent and gather more supplies. You can never have enough ammo and never have enough food just collect and store items, get a nice vehicle an keep it fresh all green an fully fueled most of the time, find a heli, meet new people, maybe make some friends or enemies. Theres endless things to do, you just gotta do what you want.

There is only one thing you can do. For this thing, is required and enforced by the Goat God himself.

You must go to Elektro with nothing but a hatchet. You must wear as little clothes as possible. ONLY A HATCHET.

Once you arrive with the hatchet. You must search for bambis. Once you find one you must chase them and scream "BLOOD...BLOOD FOR THE GOAT GOD. LET ME SACRAFICE YOU FOR THE GOAT GOD!"

You must then make strange noises over the mic and every once in awile yell "BLOOD FOR THE GOAT GOD". Once you have taken 23 lives and given the blood to the Goat God. THEN you can consider yourself fully geared and ready to start a new life trying to get him more blood.

Sacrifice yourself for the Goat God. Every time you do this. You get an upgrade.

1: Hatchet

2: Pistol

3: Shotgun

4: SMG

5: Assault rifle

6: Heavy MG

7: Sniper

8: Fist

Secretly follow a rookie or freshly spawned player and play the role as his/her guarding angel...

  • Make sure to save his ass from infected in tight situations
  • Scout the area that he is carelessly venturing into and take out hidden campers/snipers or other hostile players (preventing them from killing him)
  • If needed, move in and fix him up or give him remedies to do it himself

Or you could just tease him a bit instead...

  • Shoot at him but purposely miss to freak him out
  • Don't kill but wound him every time he heals himself
  • Set off infected close to him when he's trying to be stealth and semi-help him fighting them off again

Imagine a role and try your best to immerse yourself into it ;)

Or instead of overplaying the mod, you could simply put the game on the shelf and wait for the stand-alone, where you'll probably have some interesting goals/missions/quests to keep yourself entertained...

Once you get the best gear?

Get spare sets of gear and set up a backup camp or two,

Try to find and use every different type of vehicle,

Start a parts supply service,

Become a huntsman meat supplier

Play taxi driver for fellow survivors,

Run a bus route ... and keep your jalopy on the road

Find, repair and run a helicopter, then go out on air recon

... getting decent kit is just the beginning.

Well it is if you actually interact with the game and other players past becoming a sad AS50 hugging sociopath bush wookie.

Here's a challenge for you.

Set yourself up atop the Elektro Power Station tower (nowhere to hide) and see how long you last sniping zombies and players alike.

Or just place all your gear on the beach and start again.

Well, I generally run around for a while... maybe even put a car together, then get bored. And do one of these three things, depending on my mood:

1. Go to NWA and kill as many zombies as I possibly can. Don't forget to loot all the buildings when you run out of ammo! It's amazing what it can do for your score, and strangely enough, I've never been killed by players while doing this. After I run out of all ammo, I hack zombies till I die.

2. Go to Berezino and try to give away my stuff to someone without them killing me. It's only happened once, successfully (unfortunately). Then "restart".

3. Go to Cherno or Elektro and kill people who have guns. (edit: sometimes I substitute Balota for the cities)
