This is what DayZ has turned into because it got popular.. I'm not going to lie, I bought this game back in January so I'm still a noob.

Don't get me wrong, I know bandits are a part of the game, but not the whole game!

I don't know what we can do about this deathmatch, but currently I'm looking for no PvP servers. Anyone know any?

From the FAQ

Q: Turn PvP Off?

A: No. PvP is a core part of the DayZ atmosphere and we aren't going to restrict it. Just go inland away from the built up towns along the coast where players spawn.

You can't really do anything about it, I can't think of any solution which would work without changing the entire game.

I guess you need to find a private hive which is full of like-minded people.

As I said, PvP is no longer a part of DayZ, it's all about what DayZ is about.

Sucks, really.

DayZ would be very boring if all you had to worry about were the buggy zeds. DayZ thrives because of that lawless atmosphere where you know that firing your weapon could draw the attention of someone who can do worse than bite and scratch at you.

DayZ is much more about people than it is about zombies. Unfortunately, a lot of those people want to shoot you. That's just how it is.

It was mainly OP's fault for his first paragraph. You know I still love you.

Nothing's my fault. I have a good point, but it's run over by ignorant people

The fact is, people will kill to survive... Just some more than others.

No, YOU don't have a good point. What you have here is a repost of something that we've heard time and time again.

There is always a different option.

Singleplayer.

PVP'ing is what makes DayZ DayZ.. (dayz dayz give me your answer do.. sorry got distracted there) without it, it's just plain boring, sure.. at first the zed are a problem but once you learn how to avoid them, run through a building or hide in trees its to easy, you need a PVP element to the game to keep it exciting!

Here's a little history lesson for everyone.

In the development stages, just before it went public, the mod was expected to get roughly 600 downloads in a month. I'm not even talking 600 players all playing at the same time, simply 600 separate players having the mod. In a month, there were 200,000 players.

It's intentions were to have a mod, that you could probably spend an entire Friday night playing with your mates, or maybe a whole afternoon slaying zombie's with your Arma group. It was not meant to be a game that was played daily by a tens of thousands of people. It wasn't set up to be a mainstream game. People weren't supposed to know about every loot spawn, ever vehicle spawn, every best sniping spot. It was simply meant to be a mod that you jump into with your mates at the same time and slay some zombies. You all saw this when my group got together with Shacktac that ended by spawning the all to well known series "The dayz ahead" by CHKilroy. That was the kind of game it was meant to be, where everyone was friends/knew each other, and everyone just wanted to have some fun.

tl;dr the mod was not set up to be used by the masses

Yeah, no. That kind of discussion needn't be discussed any longer.
