rallye 89 Posted August 9, 2013 When the mod was opened up the community, how did you people not see this happening? In hindsight it was the worst possible move the community and Rocket made. Getting community coders in to help get updates out faster was a great idea. Allowing private hives and the eventual complete modding of the game bad move.

All the custom servers keep people interested. If all we had was the public hive, the mod would be mostly dead by now as people get bored easily. The subtle changes aren't enough to keep players. Plus a couple of the mods are closer to what the standalone will be like.

Whipped 1 Posted October 29, 2013 I am about to start to start playing this week as soon as my new PC arrives. I would like to play Vanilla, Plain, no crazy stuff, and with as little to start with as possible, am I going to have a hard time finding a server to start on? Thank you
beavis_5000 111 Posted October 29, 2013 Billy Mays Remembrance Foundation. Vanilla DayZ with all the Vet settings on. DayNight/FPS only/no starter equipment just regular bandage and flashlight/No crosshairs. I believe they have a server for each coast in the USA. BMRF = Custom Donation Starting Loadouts. BAHADIR 124 Posted October 29, 2013 If DayZ SA is going to be as hardcore as it sounds, it going to be a freaking kick in the teeth to those playing on 24/7 day servers. I think I can hear all the whining right now. "-OmgItssoDifficultlmaomakethezombieseasyLOLmakeweaponsmooreeasy" You hear that too ?
NagsterTheGangster 388 Posted October 29, 2013 Put US in your search bar and see if that brings up a few.

jubeidok 495 Posted October 30, 2013 The last true vanilla server has finally gone down, 2873. All these others have side chat and fake nights or no nights at all, that's not vanilla. It's too bad this mod got killed by the splintering of it's community across dozens of different mod mods, because the mod has gotten some really cool new features of late. Sadly, those new fixes and features cannot be enjoyed because the mod has gotten stale for me over the last 6 months due to unadventurous player tendencies and patterns. =(
