I usually swing with (red light) but lately I've upgraded to (feels good) reverse it up a tad

I think I will continue torturing people the old fashioned way. Break their legs, poop on them, shoot them in the legs and force a zombie horde into a room with them. Call Flush (Flush is the name of the attack dog) to attack, eat my beans infront of him/her, kill their best friend (best friend also in the same gauntlet as the victim) or sing my favorite Roxette song non-stop.

Methods of torture in DayZ may be just the thing to survival or perhaps a sick game to add to the various random encounters each character will endure for many days and nights to come.

Using a binding character script would mean the character either logging in binded or needing a way to break free, or, starving to death, leading to many unwanted hours on this game. From what the producers are talking about in standalone, the dev blog said there will be no role-play servers, just a plain script. I do not feel like being hacked in a role-play event.

First off how would you know if someone is telling you the truth still. Just because a player is getting tortured ingame does not mean that person cares at all. Secondly not many players would enjoy if their gaming experience consisted of torture and bear trap rooms.

I don't see the justification behind torturing people, or capturing them. Do you expect his buddies to pay a randsome? For him to tell you where his base is? It's not going to happen. I don't think it's a good idea sorry.

The only torture I've ever done, was breaking a guys legs with a hatchet, took his beans, ate it in front of him, then laughed over voice chat.

Its a game so he is not going to feel any real pain besides maybe some loss of pride. Now when those new keyboards that give you a electric shock every time you take damage come out then this will work. :P

Hi guys,

So I was thinking of how there will most likely be base building implemented after release towards the end of the year. However, I think if torture was pulled off NOT just for trolling, and could be scripted in some way, it could work.

By that I mean, look at this as an example

Player1=Thief

Player2=Base Owner

Player1 goes to Player2's base. He takes a can of beans.

When Player1 takes Player2's picked up beans, this could trigger an event due to the fact that Player2 had the beans first, so that Player2 can subdue and tie up Player1 using almost the same script as the immobile sit position. This could then lead to bear trapped rooms for your sick little minds...

Combat-friggin-logging could also be disabled, or if they try, they trigger a trap.

After all, nothing is more satisfying than seeing a retarded logger getting his leg caught in a bear-trap, screaming in pain.

Just a li'l idea...

Player 2 doesn't own the bean can anymore as soon as it leave his inventory.

Nuff said.

Aside from all the other points the guys are making, there should be no artificial "ownership" idea in DayZ. If you think the beans are yours, and that someone "stole" them, then you should take them back the old fashioned way. Nobody wants to have some griefer force their character to sit unconcious for hours.
