Pvt. Dimitri Petrenko 0 Posted March 12, 2013 Well I hate to be a bother again but it appears another problem has showed its ugly face. This time, my entire client freezes up whenever I'm on the loading screen or on the "Waiting for character to create" screen. How do I know this? I highly doubt that a server needs 11 hours to load. What's the story?

I highly doubt that a server needs 11 hours to load. What's the story?DayZ servers are a GIANT pain in the arse, mate, I'm sorry to say. 1 hour to join is not unheard of-11 is unusual.Make sure you have the latest beta patch/the same version as the server, the same version of DayZ as the server, and do NOT install any mods that do not include a .bikey; BattlEye auto-rejects mods that haven't been Bohemia cleared so no one has a "addon" that secretly makes them invincible or can fly or whathaveyou.I remember the first days of ArmA 2, when mods weren't BattlEye checked. THOSE were the days... :)
OrLoK 16188 Posted March 12, 2013 Hello thereTBH I havn't needed to wait longer than a couple of minutes to join a server if I'm running the right version etc.Try an app like DAYZ COMMANDER to smooth your passage.RgdsLoK
Pvt. Dimitri Petrenko 0 Posted March 12, 2013 I am using DayZ Commander. No, I'm not a Six Updater fr00b.This is pretty much any server, ranging from private hives to unofficial to official.

My friend has this problem and this fixed it.
OrLoK 16188 Posted March 12, 2013 Hello thereHow does the vanilla game cope with connecting to online games?Have you run each game to the loading screens, that can solve certain issues.RgdsLoK

Pvt. Dimitri Petrenko 0 Posted March 12, 2013 Oh believe me, I tried that.I tried the normal methods, the unorthidox methods and even the deadly methods.Still wouldn't work.If it helps any, the normal ArmA II Multiplayer loads up fine, just dandy as if there was no problem at all. I haven't seen anything more than a couple minutes in months.I didn't say the 1 hour wait time has been a recent thing, just that it isn't unusual. :)I personally can join servers in around 15 minutes, maybe 30 if it's a fresh character. OrLoK 16188 Posted March 12, 2013 Hello thereI can only remember a distant time where there was an issue with long loading times. 30 mins is far far to long to wait IMHO.RgdsLoK
sausagekingofchicago 4711 Posted March 12, 2013 Definitely unusual for me. Even on the busiest of days with near capacity servers I don't see more than a few minutes to log in. What kind of servers are you connecting to? Public, private? Standard resets or once a day?

Pvt. Dimitri Petrenko 0 Posted March 12, 2013 I go on public servers and sometimes private hives if the owners are feeling generous. And the servers I go in do the standard 6 hour, 12 hour or daily reset.
