Does the Arma 2: Complete Collection make a difference?

Hi everyone,

I noticed Arma II was for sale on Steam and I decided I would like to get it specifically because what I've heard about DayZ. Looking at the info on the DayZ site I see that Arma II: Combined Operations is what's required to play DayZ. However, on the Combined Operations page within the Steam store it says:

"The Day Z Mod requires Arma II and Arma II: Operation Arrowhead, both are included in this bundle, however for the best experience (including high detail textures for all models used in the DayZ Mod) purchase Arma II: Complete Collection."

So I figured I would check here to see if the statement about the Complete Collection was actually true, or if they are just trying to make a larger sale.

You get higher resolution textures with the extra DLCs but DayZ is fully playable with just Combined Ops. :)

All you need is arma 2 and arma 2 combined operations, and yea you get high res textures with the complete collection! Its well worth it!

If your considering getting dayz i recommend DayZ Commander, its easy to install dayz and it works with steam.

It's also perfectly playable without issues but with low res textures by using arma 2 free paired up with operation arrowhead

It sounds like it's probably worth the extra $7 for the Complete Collection then.

The "Extra $7" can save your life, sir/ma'am! I beg you to reconsider.

Consider these 2 situations:

1 (where you don't pay the extra seven bucks):

You walk into Cherno. There's a man hiding in some grass nearby. You don't see him and die.

2 (you do pay):

You walk into Cherno. A really crisp ghillie suit is in the middle of low-rez grass. You turn and kill him.

Don't forget the oodles of content you get for the core arma game with the DLC's.

Worth it IMHO.

Yes, the DLC provides higher resolution textures for your eyes to orgasm over. It's certainly worth it for the bundle since if you are also a regular ArmA player, you get to enjoy the extras that came along.

I didnt buy the bundle as I already bought Arma 2 OA, I did however buy the Brit dlc as it was only £2.99 so the camo clothing I often wear now actually looks like camo clothing

Getting the Arma 2 complete Collection is really worth it because you have higher resolution textures and because you have the experience of playing the arma 2 games. My opinion get the Complete Collection, its worth it :).
