Riddy 1 Posted March 10, 2013 Hello there guys, am not sure where to post this, obviously because am amongst those newbies and Bambi's on both DayZ and this forum, but just wondering, I seem to get around 15-20 FPS constantly which is laggy for me, I did also do those setting on the ArmaII.cfg and the profile bit too, just doesnt change much, but these are my specs:AMD FX 4100 4.0ghZXFX HD Radeon 5750 That's all you need to know IMO, but PC or ArmaII engine? Spin around a few times; you'll get sudden, extreme lag, then all your lag will disappear unless you wind up teleporting/doing crazy Ivans every 2 minutes. chakijz 174 Posted March 10, 2013 Changing the view distance won't help, it is determined by the server, not the client. But if you want to play DayZ with reasonable fps, I think you should upgrade your PC, because this rig won't run it better. Maybe you'll get +/- 5 fps with some tweaks.

Mos1ey 6301 Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) Have you got AA, PPoE and post-process disabled? Maybe AToC too TBH. That rig isn't really cut out for ARMA and DayZ so beyond playing with your settings there isn't a lot you're gonna be able to do, unfortunately. Sorry, my IQ is like 0.
Mos1ey 6301 Posted March 10, 2013 In your graphics settings in ARMA 2: OA - anti-aliasing, PPoE and post-process effects, lol. All should be disabled if you're having problems with low FPS. :)Also, try setting everything else to normal or low. You might find you actually have more FPS with normal because setting things to low puts to load on your CPU instead of your graphics card.

Mos1ey 6301 Posted March 10, 2013 ARMA 2 is really hardware intensive, AC3 is kids stuff in comparison, lol.Good luck, disabling the things I told you too should help a bit.
icanfish 13 Posted March 10, 2013 Yea mate is not easy handle ArmaII, I don't have problems with it run all on high good fps's, but I would say upgrade your pc or wait for standalone, because a lot of stuff gonna jump to server side and a lot of stuff gonna be corrected so the fp's can improve. :).Best RegardsIcanFish
Riddy 1 Posted March 10, 2013 ARMA 2 is really hardware intensive, AC3 is kids stuff in comparison, lol.Good luck, disabling the things I told you too should help a bit.Meh, it is a game with high quality shizzle though.Ok, thanks mate :DYea mate is not easy handle ArmaII, I don't have problems with it run all on high good fps's, but I would say upgrade your pc or wait for standalone, because a lot of stuff gonna jump to server side and a lot of stuff gonna be corrected so the fp's can improve. :).Best RegardsIcanFishYeah, I am expecting a better FPS on Standalone, and I recently bought this PC for cheap though, am on a budget for now, gotta wait till I finish exams before I go for those OP gaming PC's
Mos1ey 6301 Posted March 10, 2013 Performance in the standalone is only slightly better than DayZ mod TBH because the graphics have been improved.
aussiebobby 82 Posted March 10, 2013 My sons PC has a Phenom II X4 955 and HD6850 and doesn't get that kind of lag.Only when he uses the editor and put way to many bots/AI in
Riddy 1 Posted March 10, 2013 Performance in the standalone is only slightly better than DayZ mod TBH because the graphics have been improved.Well, isnt it all server-sided instead of client-side making it 10x better?
Mos1ey 6301 Posted March 10, 2013 Well, isnt it all server-sided instead of client-side making it 10x better?Yeah, but the game itself without zombies is more intensive. You'll get a more FPS but that system will still struggle.
Riddy 1 Posted March 10, 2013 Yeah, but the game itself without zombies is more intensive. You'll get a more FPS but that system will still struggle.Meh, as long as it doesnt lag as bad as ArmaII:CO lags.
Chips- 58 Posted March 11, 2013 My brother plays DayZ on an Intel E7400 and HD 4870 with 20-30fps so you should be getting better performance
BioHazard050 49 Posted March 11, 2013 Arma is VERY CPU intensive, when i play, my CPU usually pegs at 80% while my GPU hits like...40-50%Saving up for an upgrade, my core 2 duo is painful.
electroban 102 Posted March 11, 2013 ARMA 2 is really hardware intensive, AC3 is kids stuff in comparison, lol.Good luck, disabling the things I told you too should help a bit.By hardware intensive he actually means poorly optimised shit. This is the only game out there where if I increase my settings to high I get more frames. That shit better not be in the standalone version.
boneboys 7988 Posted March 11, 2013 There are some Stress Tests in the SP list. This is the best way to tweak your game and see what makes a difference in the settings.Run each test at least twice.Deactivate DayZ and any other mods beforehand.
Riddy 1 Posted April 22, 2013 Very late reply I know. Last poster: Can you give me a link to these 'stress' tests?
badluckburt 974 Posted April 22, 2013 If I understand Boneboys correctly, they are in the game itself under Scenarios I think. They're the Benchmark ones.
SteveLord 32 Posted April 22, 2013 The "my brother's/friend's PC" claims are pointless as everyone is conveniently forgetting to mention what resolution those are set to. Which can make all the difference.
