How to add dayz mod to Steam

is there a way to add dayz mod to Steam while still using dayz commander?

Looking to get use of Steam overlay.

Did a search but didn't find anything relevant to the current release of the mod on Steam.

Another method is to add dayz commander as a none steam game, make sure you add the dayzcommander.exe and not the shortcut also make sure you've not ticked the box that closes dayz commander when connecting to a server.

Why don't you just use the DayZ Mod off of steam instead?
