Wait people stay alive on 1 server for months?

God damn, anyone got tips on how to stay alive longer? I like to run in cities for loot

Well, for one stop running in cities for loot. High risk, high reward. Take it slower and head for the hills. Find some barns to loot and get geared slower. You'll learn the game. It takes a while.

don't run in cities. That's probably one of the highest causes of deaths because if a bunch of zombies aggro on you your position is given away and everyone knows where you are

I have a camp, near a pond in the forest with my car and tent. I like to light fires at nigh time :). I only leave to go hunting with my hatchet or to give the occasionally "lift" in my car and sometimes people stay at my camp for a while and give me things for letting them stay.

Take people's advice and stay out of towns.

This also might help, but if you are entering a town, try to keep your stamina calm. That way, if needed to engage another player, your bullets won't fly all over the place. This kind of helped me at times.

Go play through the arma 2 campaigns, they will teach you how to survive by scouting and planing your moves.

The key to survival is don't play cherno death match. Take your time, plan your route, and scout locations before moving in.

90% of surviving is from being aware of your surroundings, check for snipers, flank around obvious paths.

Taking a cautious style of play does not mean you don't see action, I loot NWAF, and the other high risk areas. I just make sure to scout and look for any activity to ensure it's safe. When I run in to loot I still maintain constant scans of the area looking for movement.

First mistake ... only do it if you know the server is empty or the people in the city are trustworthy.

Best solution is to avoid other players in general ... I have only recently teamed up with another player, but that is because our ages are similar and we have he same play style.

The other posters have sound advice.

If all you want to do is live longer then yeah - dont go near populated areas once you have the basics of a water bottle, matches, hatchet and knife. Then just find yourself a nice area with animals and a water source and you are set.

Doesnt sound like fun though.

I much prefer hanging in Cherno myself.

Tread carefully, stay alert and always scope out areas first. Keep an eye out for zombie activity, as it can give you a good indication on where people are, if you are killing zombies, use a hatchet or crossbow and hide the bodies especially in the city. If you're wanting to loot a city often, make sure you set up a small camp somewhere, so you can store your gear and run into a city risk free.

Try your luck on some low-populated servers to begin with to get a feel for the map and its surroundings, so that when you're faced with more players you are at least aware of where you are and where to go to recuperate if need be.

I normally set up camp in the wilderness area ... now with the new patch and wandering Zombies ... you have to choose your spot carefully. I will then make runs in to the cities but with an Empty Back Pack and normally just a Hatchet and some basic medical supplies, this allows me to maximise the reward and minimise my risk if I do get killed.

Seems to work for me and suits my playing style. :)

When I travel thru the forest everytime Im about to enter an open field I scout it with binoculars and when I travel thru it I have my eyes wide open . That's the best you can do to not get sniped on open field . Of course ,when there is a possibility to take rout on the edge of the forest to get to my point I'll take it .

Don't move in cities or atleast dont stay long in them when the server got higher population .

Be cautious on military spawns .

Visit one city, once at the beginning when you have nothing to loose and focus on medical supplies first, don't be greedy for an elusive AKM. Then leave and focus on barns, deer stands, small towns to get geared, travel from forest to forest.

Or, like Inception( I believe) said, you can go out into the Real Life World and Nature. Spend some quality time with your friends, or if you're younger than 18, study for a better life, start a hobby, then after a while return back to the game and enjoy :)

You can make the towns work for you, it can be tricky tho, it also depends on what class you are in game, if your a bandit skin, that might explain why people dont think twice about shooting you, one of the benifits of the hero skin is people know your less of a threat, so i can generally get through elektro without to much bother aslong as im not sloppy about my route, but like everyone said, if the towns are getting you killed, stay away.

To stay alive you need to get: Hunting knife, matches, empty tin can, bottle and hatchet and start to live in the woods away from civilization.

If you will keep comming to cities, supermarkets or airfields you will die, like in Call of Duty.

-Scout cities for Zombies (if Zombies are in a city, before you came, it means someone is there)

-Take vantage points on hills near towns and scout before entering

-Try not to shoot at Zombies, just escape them if they aggro
