Toilet Paper & First Aid

I think that the toilet paper that is in the game should have a use. I was discussing with my friends about why it doesn’t. Then I had this really good idea, when people get bloody noses or get cut they use toilet paper to stop the bleeding, why don’t the Dayz developers implement the use of toilet paper as a bandage. You can also make it a bit harder to find but easier to find then a bandage. Then you can make bandages harder to find.

That's why you would wrap it around yourself more than once.

Also, it shouldn't be too hard to find, there should be at least a couple rolls in every house. I would imagine they'd take up multiple inventory slots but have multiple uses. Also, a chance of the bleeding to start again.

But wouldn't say a rag, towel, or blanket you could rip up be just as common and even better?

I think toilet paper can be usefull for like stop bleeding but for a limited time only, like 5 min or so, and also you can apply it running, so you can have time to take out zeds, and then properly bandage yourself.

Well, even in a normal home today, toilet paper is incredibly more steril then a towel or anything hanging around. The fact that its rolled in so many layers, preserve the layers further in, if its treated well ofc, thus making it more steril then a towel, which have been hanging for who knows how long :)

A good example of this is if you get a piercing, you always get advised to use toiletpaper to dry it after a shower, as towels simply holds so much more bacteria. So just think about a sheet or a rag on the floor in an apocalypse :)

But i like the idea of a "make-shift" bandage of toiletpaper, it should have a chance of failing on apply and it should not be as "good" as a bandage, maybe only works for a certain amount of time, to simulate the blood bleeding through it, or have a chance of lowering the amount of blood lost insted of actually stopping it right away? And ofc chance of infection on use heh

At least some kind of tape or "glue" to stick it to the arm after rolling it on.

Even the smallest scratch can turn into a nasty staph infection that can kill you, when you dont live in a somewhat steril enviorement.

Small cuts in an apocalypse are deff not to be taken lightly, they need to be kept clean and clear of dirt untill its healed, which takes a couple of days even for the smallest scratch :)

We are just used to not getting infected because we have become upsessed with cleaning everything in our world :) That would stop instant at an apocalypse.

Just think about your clothes in an apocalypse. It would be a mix of your blood, coagulated, zombie blood, also coagulated and then a various mix of mud and what not, combined with weeks of swet.

All of this equals a massive amount of bacteria, directly into your fresh little cut, thats could kill you if not taken care of.

Even if you washed your clothes it would still hold bacteria, because theres no soap rofl.
