Info on Balota Buddies?

Recommended Posts

I am tired of all these b/s private hives and the horrid admins. Idk if it is just my luck of the draw or what, but I'm through with it.

Last non-list private hive I played on, up and switched to Wasteland (yuck), so I lost my full gear out. That was awesome! lol

So, I have read great things about Balota Buddies, and have never tried them out once. Going on seven months of play so far B)

Can anyone give me specific details about the community? I couldn't find much in the way of server rules on the site, and I really don't wanna play and break any rules.

I haven't whitelisted yet, because I have yet to download teamspeak 3, and do not have a mic because mine decided to crap out last night >:( .

What are certain rules people that are new to the server should know? Anything different about the community?

How about the playstyle? In game content?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am going to have a challenge, I have never used TS, for anything. lol

I really like the Balota Buddies servers, they are high quality and have nice admins.

All info can be found on their website: http://balotabuddies.net/

To get whitelisted, read the rules on this page: http://balotabuddies.net/page/articles.html/_/tutorials/server-administration/server-requirements-and-rules-r12

The only rules I can recall besides the obvious is that you had to be signed into their Teamspeak in-case they needed to contact you. You can sit in the "not talking" channel if you don't want to talk, though. You can talk via text, too.

They support all playstyles, they even offer "Survivor" and "Bandit" group rooms for you.

Upon requesting to be whitelisted, you will be forwarded to these rules and requirements. Apart from that, I guess you can register at their forums and look for any more information, or ask the Balota Buddies themselves if there's anything left to know before getting whitelisted. ;)

EDIT: Ninja'd twice, noooo!

Please be patient when sitting in the whitelisting channel. The whitelisters are volunteers and don't always want to whitelist someone.

Lol, I planned on being patient. Too many kids nowadays that want everything immediately.

Guessing you have had experiences in the past/recently with whitelisting people?

I come home from school, hop into Teamspeak and all I feel like doing is playing some DayZ. I then am immediately messaged by the people sitting in whitelisting with things like "whitelisting" [which is so...bland], and "plz whisltit me ive been sittin here for 1 hour1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Yes, there is an AFK room at the bottom of the Teamspeak. You needn't speak with anyone at all.

Generally if it's someone I like from these forums I'll make an exception.

Careful with those words, conspiracy theorists are afoot!

"First destroyed immersion from stupid food names, now corrupt mods? Egads!"

Seriously though, I couldn't imagine going through the b/s you guys go through. Modding a forum and then on top of that whitelisting rude ass people? Pfft, I'd be bald by now. And you're only fourteen!?!?! You're fucking going places man. You gotz mah beanzez you do.

You simply mute your mic and it'll automatically shift you there after a few seconds.

Quick question for you though. When would be the best time of day to log on and have there be an available whitelister?

I am EST (GMT - 5). Just waiting on a mic, because mine crapped out as stated in OP.

Should have one in the next few hours, gonna head down to the store and pick up a replacement till I can get my hands on a Turtle Beach or Logitech.

Also gotta set up teamspeak and whatnot.

EDIT - By available, I mean when they frequent the server.

Would love to play with you guys one of these days.

I was hesitant to whitelist because I felt the same way, but seriously, no one has forced a conversation since I joined teamspeak. I just go to an unused channel and go about my business. But its nice to have the option to get into a channel with some peeps if you ever teamup. Hope to see ya ingame on US46 if you decide to get whitelisted. :)
