Alternative Method of Honoring the Mods and Devs

Given the Great Can Dispute of 2013, and what happened because of it, I think that the developers and moderators still need to be honored and recognized, perhaps like how DICE did in Battlefield 3's Wake Island map:

Of course, this would not be dedicated to the players for playing the game, but rather towards the developers for their service and effort.

This could perhaps be placed in a small, hard to reach area of the map, or maybe perhaps hidden in plain sight, like at the foot of the bronze statue in the Cherno square.

As far as I can see, this has only benefits:

• The developers and moderators are recognized for their hard work and dedication
  
• "We gave DayZ an easter egg. Players love easter eggs."
  
• There is no major change to the core game, so people won't complain about it being immersion-breaking
  

Thoughts?

Hey, why don't we name Cans/Drinks after them? Considering it's only a cosmetic thing but is at the same time pretty cool and anybody who gets angry about it would clearly be a selfish aspie bastard with no care for other people's feelings, enjoyments or right to privacy.

I mean who would personally attack somebody for liking ponies? Only immature people who believe that the world exists to serve them and that nobody else deserves credit for their hard unpaid work would say that.

WWIIOnline has a bridge in Namur that had member's names who joined their Builder's Program with large donations, as well as statues in town for players who passed away irl. You could also purchase another type of statue that you could put a custom message on, that was a sort of Fallen Heros tribute. I'm not suggesting that we allow people to buy statues etc, but perhaps a plaque or statue item ingame would be less offensive to folks.

It's not as big of a deal as everyone thinks, no one talks about it now except for people posting on how to "fix" it. People just made a big deal of it because every update some people need something to complain about.

That's not the main point of what I'm suggesting here. It doesn't matter if it doesn't seem like it's that big of a deal to you because people are whining anyway. This would make both sides happy and solve the whole dilemma, no matter how much a big of a deal it is. A problem is a problem, and this is a solution.

I don't want to see heroic Soviet statues of the mods and devs, but I like the plaque idea. Maybe a separate plaque for each? Or one big plaque? Or signs in Cyrillic?

I like the food idea best though.

No no, not the statues themselves, but rather the plaques underneath featuring a thanks. It would be a pleasant surprise to anyone who saw it, expecting something else.

I think that a separate plaque for each would be too much, unless they were scattered around the map.

The billboards could be paired with Vasily's soviet propaganda-style posters that he's been making lately. If he was asked to make posters about the devs and mods to put on billboards, with easter-egg worthy puns, then that would be marvelous.

Plus I don't get it why some of the FORUM MODS should get credit in-game, I mean they don't have connection to the game development per se, rather they moderate the forums.
