Why give something that could practically have no uses but one, a chance to spawn over something that could be helpful. And the bugs that would come with it? Don't get me started.

If you wanna hunt rabbits, buy a .22 rifle and get a permit, or if you're in a country with gun laws... buy a hunting sim. Last thing I want to do is get on a zombie survival sim, find a .177 caliber pellet rifle over a pistol or high caliber rifle, and go out into the woods "Shhhhhhhhh..... I'm hunting wabbits."

It is just un-practical man. And trust me, this is a docile post compared to what you'll get from others in here. Prepare for dropping the soap like consequences man.

I completely agree with you. I think the pellet rifle would just create more problems and there would be no purpose to it. I think it shouldn't be added and Ruski not to be rude but come on really?!

Thin out the herd of empty cans and bottles, maybe. That population is getting out of hand.

An air rifle would be in the valley between the crossbow and the SD rifles. It would have the abyssmal rate of fire of the crossbow and the non-retrievable ammo of the Bizon/MP5SD, worse damage than either and still take up the primary weapon slot. I'd rather have a crowbar.

Just a quick search pulled up the following.

.22 pellet air rifle, velocity 950

5.56 NATO rounds, (.223 just for compairision) velocity ranges from 905-940 (depending on the type, fired from the same test weapon).

Roughly the same size, you're just using compressed air or some other gas to propel the slug rather than burning gunpowder to rapidly expand air in the chamber.

I would agree with Beez that the fire rate should be slow, but that don't make it worthless. I'd rather crawl around Cherno with a 'crappy' silenced gun scoring head shots on zombies because I had time to line up a shot rather than jog through with an AK stopping occasionally to squeeze a burst into some chests.

And the OP's not saying "Take out the AS50/M4CCO/Yourfavorateweapon and replace it with a Nerf Gun", you'll still have your military weapons. I want a few more 'survivalist' weapons to chose from.

The pellet rifle would never pierce a skull as think as a human skull. A pellet shot, is nothing more than a tiny piece of lead, that will not gain the momentum required to make a kill without hitting something in the eyes or possibly throat.

Difference between the pellet and a high caliber 5.56x45mm NATO round, is probably about the same as being stepped on by a cat, and an elephant.

A 5.56 NATO is usually a 63 grain piece of steel coated lead/hollowpoint/ or other design, that is propelled out of the barrel by a chemical reaction, giving it well over 1,700 joules of energy. A pellet, is a tiny little piece of lead, shot out by little more than compressed air, or a spring mechanism. Weighing most likely less than 20 grains, and having less than I'd guess about 200 joules (don't quote).

Point is, when you get hit by a 5.56x45mm round, you're getting hit by a miniature car with a spear mounted on the front, that will abruptly explode inside of you, fragmenting into your organs. When you get shot with a pellet, it is a glorified skin piercing spitwad.

It would seem like a good idea but theres a few probs. Mainly that they have low range and damage. I mean it would take 3-4 shots to kill one zomB at 50 m. Reload every time and id rather risk my life and go all in with my Axe or pop of a round with a makorov silenced
