zachgibson22 14 Posted February 5, 2013 I hope I'm not the only one!. My laptop doesn't have scroll lock anywhere! I search everywhere for an alternative way to activate but can't find anything! Please change the button! make it ctrl-H or something. Or "I" since there are no stats now! that would only make sense right!?

MrN79 3 Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) On my laptop (MAC) I press the fn+shift+F12 keys, and I get the EPeen monitor to show up. Shows Zombie Kills, Headshots, Bandit Kills, Something I can't remember, and Humanity. Edited February 5, 2013 by MrN79

zachgibson22 14 Posted February 6, 2013 I have a Fn(Function) key but I can't even find a number lock. (mostly likely cause it already has a numpad.) I'm on an ASUS G74SX. Trust me I've tried so much!Although I don't have a Mac I think i will try that MrN79.
zachgibson22 14 Posted February 6, 2013 Actually I my have found it. Need to try it now.
janus0104 212 Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) Unless I'm mistaken (only have horrible quality photos from google to go on), it's FN+F3 or FN+F4 on that asus keyboard. Remember, Scroll Lock isn't the same as Num Lock! The scroll lock key is used, today more rarely than it used to be, to scroll down the page without changing the current cursor position. That being said, it usually has a downward pointing arrow icon or an icon that involves the keyboard, sometimes with a lock above it or similar. Check if your laptop has the usual three LEDs (num lock, caps lock, scroll lock), if so there is a key combo for it somewhere. Also, the existence of a numpad has nothing to do with num lock, it's meant to switch between having the numbers 0-9 and the comma or rather have up/down/left/right arrows aswell as insert/del/home/end/pg up/pg down. MrN79 3 Posted February 6, 2013 Most laptops (Mac or Win) have some type of key combination that will enable Scroll Lock, or user definable key combinations that can be set to enable Scroll Lock.
entspeak 374 Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) Since most laptops now have scrolling ability in the trackpads, manufacturers have been getting rid of the Scroll Lock key. My Dell 14r has no scroll lock key function whatsoever. No key combinations I've looked into work - Fn+F5, Fn+Delete, Fn+Num Lock... nada. I even tried a registry fix to assign another key to scroll lock and it doesn't work. As it stands, I had to buy a USB NumPad because Dell also didn't put an alternative NumPad into the keyboard. It's all a part of the New Cruelty. As I understand it, the plan is to add this info to the Diary which will make it an assignable control - hopefully, that'll happen sooner rather than later. For now, I haven't been able to find a way to get the monitor up. Edited February 6, 2013 by entspeak

MrN79 3 Posted February 7, 2013 You can also try using the on screen keyboard by going into "Start - All Programs - Accessories - Ease Of Access - On-Screen Keyboard"
DemonGroover 8836 Posted February 7, 2013 On my laptop there is a tiny icon of a lock with an arrow on F3.Try Fn-F3
Hetstaine 10852 Posted February 7, 2013 scroll lock..useless since forever.
wooly-back-jack 294 Posted February 7, 2013 I used scroll lock before the update anyway lol, I use it for 3rd/1st person switch, KP enter is my GPS key.I suppose it works quite well having it as scroll lock for me, as every time I change view I can massage my tiny e-peen with no murders
Dreams_Of_Cheese (DayZ) 71 Posted February 8, 2013 I found that on my Asus laptop, fn + scroll lock on the numpad is scroll lock
zachgibson22 14 Posted February 9, 2013 I also guess I should have put my kind of laptop. :D I have an ASUS G74SX. It says there is a hotkey combo, but it doesn't work.@Elvaron, yeah my laptop doesn't even have a light for it.@MrN79 I actually have tried the onscreen keyboard but can't see it when i start the game. I suppose I could run in window mode.Lol it just seems so weird to me that of all the key combos they could have assigned that to, they would choose that key. They even could have made it an option in the list when you press "backspace"
Avallanche 121 Posted February 9, 2013 I have a full apple keyboard (the latest desktop one, with numpad) and can't find a way. Already tried "FN+shift+F12" and nothing.Anyone has the same one?
argenex 0 Posted February 10, 2013 Yea, I have a laptop and I dont have a scroll lock button either. Even if I plug in a keyboard with a scroll lock button on it, the system doesn't recognize it and I dont get the Epeen Moniter. As mentioned in several posts, pick a key combo everyone can access please. Especially now that we can't see our kills anymore via the multiplayer scoreboard, I have no damned idea just what in the hey is going on.Would be a nice little feel good for myself after I hatchet 30 zombies chasing me to know how many I actually chopped. peanutt 0 Posted February 27, 2013 I also have a ASUS G74S and do not have a NUM LOCK or SCROLL LOCK key. From what I have read above and elsewhere, it appears that there is no key. Is there a way to remap the key?
