why destroy tents?

Recommended Posts

I found a large camp that someone had driven over ALL of the tents

why would anyone do that??

when i find a large well stocked camp that is blatantly being used i note its position and raid it a little

I take enough to be worth it but not so much that they move the camp and if it is really well stocked they may not even notice

that way i can come back and raid it again and again and again

most of you will come back with "to grief"

But Its like having a bank that gives you free money , and you decide the best thing to do is burn down the bank "for fun"

its stupid

We came across a pretty obvious hackers set of tents once, so we flattened them all out.

Why not? You've already crippled their stock, so might as well take out the leftovers.

why would anyone do that??

Some men aren't looking for anything logical. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I believe this quote answers the question.

cut and burn policy, by the destroying the tents, yes you are stopping one of your supplys but you are also stopping your enemys, and if you have taken the pick of the equipment well that will give you a significant edge

Because my axe gets hungry and from time to time I must feed it camo canvas. I never look inside as nothing is better than an axe.

So you can hear the little kiddies rage when they log back in. Me and my friend earlier found a tent with 4 AS50's and an L85 AWS. WE took 2 AS50's and the L85, and destroyed the rest. You should've seen the raging on side chat when they got back on :)

If your camp can be found, it deserved to be looted and destroyed.

I've managed to find a well-stocked 10-tent camp with 5 vehicles belonging to a group of bandits(kiddies) known to kos especially new spawns, we took some ammo and destroy everything including the cars. While doing so, me and my buddies were discussing what if one of the bandits is watching us all this time (because we were busying shoot our m14s and mk48s at their cars to destroy them). Low and behold one of the bandits was actually watching us and started firing upon us with an AK-74 kobra but he was a terrible shot. We took him out and escaped as the other bandits started to login and cursing at us. We laughed all the way back in our heli.

This is also the best day of Dayz for me.

Any camp that isn't your own, should be destroyed. If you encounter a group of well armed players and engage and kill them... they will just go back to their tent and rearm and once again be a threat to you. However, if they have no tent to rearm you basically set them back to Day 0 effectively, which like others have said gives you the edge. I will also destroy your vehicles.

I've laid down huge camp sites with my bus at one point. Plenty of reasons to do it.

#1 - You cripple enemy morale. Believe it or not, it's huge. It effects how they play, whether they leave the server or not, etc.

#2 - If they do stay, they have less equipment. Pretty self explainable. Less chance of you dying, you lower threat levels for everyone.

#3 - It's more time they have to spend to reconstruct = more time for you to gather and damage them more.

#4 - It's fun.

Depends.

If I find a camp close to my own depending on the size, big I destroy hoping they'd move away, small I might leave it be, hoping I've hidden my camp better than theirs.
