whatsmynameagain 31 Posted February 1, 2013 As many of you may be aware of, the ARMA 2 based game "Iron Front: Liberation 1944". This is based on the ARMA 2 game engine, so would it be possible to "Port" the mod to this game, would it work? As it would be interesting to have a few different sought of things like this. Its a different map, different weapons, unique weapons ETC.I would love to try help develop stuff like this, but I do not know a huge amount of code, I have done Development for a Flight Simulator "Flightear", What type of codes do I need to start learning?I haven't written much in this particular post, as I would like to see what feedback it gets...~Xotodazo.thats pretty much nazi zombies and call of duty

JayTee13 1 Posted February 1, 2013 (edited) It's not moddable in the first place plus even if it was we can't just port it over just because it uses the same engine. We'd have to customize it and modifiy the mod just to move it to a different game. Not worth it in my opinion. Edited February 1, 2013 by JayTee13

Apart from the Not Worth It Part, Of course this will take time, I certainly don't even expect me to be able to have it running reasonably at all by 2014.... Pac"]We've had a number of people ask permission to make an I44 version of DayZ. So I'll say it again here as people are not reading our terms of use agreement (surpriseeee) that comes with the documentation of the mod. We cannot allow any of our work to be used' date=' reworked, or re-released in another mod or game. Many of the original authors are no longer active, as well as other legal ramifications that prevent us from distributing our source files outside of the team. What you are free to do is make another mod which would require our release of I44 (not including any permissions you might need from DayZ developers) and does not modify our original files in anyway nor need to be redistributed (e.g. you would link to our current download). Your mod could then merely update the file references for DayZ's content to use the I44 classes etc, with your mod over-riding the original class references within DayZ. So again, we cannot provide permission for anyone to modify I44 to work with DayZ and redistribute it. You may only use the software as is. Anything you create that works as an extension however is fair game as long as you are not modifying our files in any way.Hope that makes sense, sorry we cannot help or support these mods. Also as a first time modder you've really picked one of the most ambitious tasks going and its not something I'd personally recommend. Start small and work your way up (e.g. a zombie mission for I44).[/quote']I got this reply from I44 on the topic of modding it, this may make it intresting, I kind of understand it, could someone explain it better? Also will be changing the subject header name part soon....Xoto.
