Feral (DayZ) 622 Posted February 1, 2013 (edited) Some people seem to think that by parachuting in you will be visible to every player on the map with a gun.That is simply not the case, there are players now who lurk along the coast actively seeking fresh spawns, but if the whole map is a spawn point (or rather the entire sky above the map) then this shitty practice ends.Of course occasionally you are going to get unlucky and be spotted by a bastard but that can happen now so it is a mute point. Waking up in a crashed car, a hospital, a bed in a house, a downed news chopper, pile of rubble, or some other kind of apocalypse-y place. I think jumping out of an airplane is a little too much, and you wouldn't always be able to grab a parachute in time... Also he said there will be new areas, so it will help keep those places spooky. Personally I can't wait to explore the new Chernarus. I am going to avoid meta gaming to do so. Private Evans 1303 Posted February 2, 2013 (edited) First of all we need more spawn points along the coast especially between Ryfi and Cap Krutoy...the parachuting spawn is a good idea if not overused...a rare chance to spawn above some remote areas would do it.....plus spawn points deep in the forests (this should include some of the smaller roads) ...all in all this would add probably more than 100 possible spawns points all over the map...we would need to find a new strategy for every spawn point and orientation would be in some case even more difficult than on the beach ...Edit...of course spwaning in some nice locations like hospitals, evac camps, churches or hotels would be awesome....( also with a very rare chance) Edited February 2, 2013 by Private Evans Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Arkayzer 1 Posted February 3, 2013 We're going to be civilians and not army guys in the SA, it would be weird for a civilian to spawn in the air with a parachute.I also doubt we will see lots of big updates on the mod now that the standalone is under development.Also it gives us some questions:Where did you get the airplane/chopper?Who dropped you?Where are you going to spawn?What about enemy fire? -Not fun if you die before you've landed because of bandits.I'm not dissing your idea, I like it, but there are always the questions you have to ask yourself/the idea before you implement them into a game. :) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
