Mos1ey 6301 Posted January 28, 2013 Actually that's not true. If you read the dev blog updates at all, they basically said they have no limit as to how many players can be on the map at once due to optimization. I'm pretty sure that would transfer to zombies as well. The optimisation and increased graphical fidelity cancel each other out a little. I'm sure they'll be able to add a few more but there won't be 'hordes'.
#Sleepy 572 Posted January 29, 2013 Here's your choice...20 zombies chasing you and 1-5 FPS or the current number of zombies and your current framerate.I still average ~40-50 FPS while recording with every zombie in Cherno on my tail.
Inception. 9443 Posted January 29, 2013 You want hoards of zombies to make things difficult?Head into Elektro with 2 other people in the area between the hospital, supermarket and office building with something loud and shoot it off. Also don't forgot that two of your mates pass out due to blood loss in the middle of the hoard. Those fuckbags for "friends" died, and I'm happy about it.

samzerks88 31 Posted January 29, 2013 I've shot a Lee enfield in Zelengorsk (not even anywhere near a major town) and had near 30 zombies surrounding me in a barn.

DemonGroover 8836 Posted January 30, 2013 I ran up and down the Lingor Airstrip once just to see how many zombies i could grab. I reckon i had close to 50 near the end when i ran into the ATC to see if i could shoot them all.I couldn't.
oldfossil 59 Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) Here's your choice...20 zombies chasing you and 1-5 FPS or the current number of zombies and your current framerate.Yes, that's the real situation. But I remember a not modded zombie sandbox mission of ArmA II where sometimes near main cities or vilages the mission script randomly set up a zombie horde of more than 30 undeads chasing for players. It was not so framerate killing as one could suppose. But maybe for DayZ it would be a big problem...anyway I still hope for hordes in SA version, also to make PvP more interesting. victusmortuus 1074 Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) What is the current Zombie rate that spawn in Dayz ? Edited January 30, 2013 by Victus Mortuus
Mos1ey 6301 Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) Depends on your location. In Cherno/Elektro one player would probably cause about 25-30 to be spawned in at one time and obviously they despawn as you leave the area and respawn as you move to a new area.I've drawn about 15 in to Elektro church at one time by firing a Lee Enfield though... Good times. Edited January 30, 2013 by mZLY
mzltv 2281 Posted January 30, 2013 You've clearly never used the Lee Enfield.
