EDIT: Considering the current state of paranoia in the game, approaching ANYONE will most likely result in your death. I'd rather be prepared to return fire rather than equip a flashlight (I don't carry one anyway) and walk up to you with a big stupid Of Mice and Men Lenny smile on my face.

EDIT2: Just remembered my G17 has a flashlight attachment... so if you want me to approach with a flashlight, sure no problem. :angel:

Better to 'flash' the flashlight a few times from a distance. Then put it away before it gets you both killed :)

Good point. By 'flash' I assume you mean one player equips it, then puts it away, then the second player does the same.

*facepalm* none of this will work. Most will just shoot the person in front of them, flashlight or not.

Bandits will simply shoot the poor fellow even if he has a flashlight out.

Players will eventually have to draw their regular weapon anyways, and, if a bandit, he will just shoot the other in the back of the head once he is close enough.

Players may just shoot the person just in case it is a bandit.

Whipping your flashlight out is the same as saluting: you will look rather silly when you are shot.

There is absolutely no penalty for shooting others out of caution. So: Why shoot a person with a flashlight? Why not? Until they come out with some kind of penalty for being a bandit, there is absolutely no reason to not shoot people simply because it MAY be a bandit (and it usually is). And, as usual, saying "friendly" only tells them that there is someone near them for them to shoot. That is all

Sniper set himself up over looking Balota airfield and the MASH south of it.

Must have cleaned up about 10-15 fresh players thanks to the flashlights we were using, pinged me and I just cbf using what limited start resources I had to scrape and survive, so stood up and let him finish me off to get a better starting zone.

Wonder if these geared bandits will ever tire of killing fresh survs.
