What if you became infected?

Calm down.

These are ideas, after all.

It's not like the lore isn't subject to change.

Anyway, yeah, it'll make people come together, preventing that "deathmatch with zombies" feeling.

It'd also just be really interesting.

No cure, though.

Otherwise there wouldn't be zombies.

Or at least make it one per server.

I was following War Z, and they were saying that a cure would be implemented.

I was kinda upset.

Anyway, if this is added, there should be a low chance.

(I was thinking only when you're bitten? 30/70?)

And there should be no cure.

That'd remove tension.

I think it would be cool if when you were killed, your corpse was reanimated and became sort of a moving, living, dangerous loot point. So instead of just running back to your body, you have to run back and fight your dead self for your gear.

if this is implanted game comes warz copycat or project zomboid so go play those and people will just kill them selfs if they know they are infected so it doesn't work so no

the grammar of that was atrocious lol, and if the player wants to kill themselve go ahead but i doubt that they would want to without storing their gear somewhere safe hmm? I mean it's not about copycats and everything is copying something but it's how you execute it that counts. Still im not dropping it i think it would just be really interesting to have

Maybe antibiotics can slow down the process but can't stop it.

That would be the worst .. a disease that can not be cured is just gamebreaking/ takes every tension of beeing ill.

Why bother running around with such a disease? just have a friend kill you and pick up your stuff and let it be delivered to you by fedex.

How about, when you're infected, you eventually die and the body reanimates on the spot. But you don't control it. You've already respawned somewhere else, starting a new life.

EDIT: Wouldn't it be cool/sad if you met one player, you have a friendly talk but he doesn't join you. An hour later, you find him shambling along with the rest of the dead...

I was talking amongst my friend about exactly this, when you die, your body instead of despawning just becomes a zombie, and if that zombies killed, hell have not all but some of your old loot that was failed to retreive on him.

I think the premise of the game is that we (surviviors) are immune to the zed virus, hence we're the last normal people left alive. Also, Rocket has said in the past he doesn't want us playing as Zeds because because people would use it to troll and it would break the immersion for other players.

But this remark brought my attention, having the small handful of survivors who are immune to the virus is great, it is also seen in other films relating to virus/zombie outbreak, such as seen in I Am Legend.

This would make much more sense, and could be explained in the games backstory.

Yeah offensive people on here, but i know about searching threads but i don't feel as if they represent what i thought i guess. Immunity is cool but i mean the point of this is becoming infected. And i believe if there is a cure it just takes away the danger infection added to the zombies

I'd like Special Zed's. Much like the 'Blood Suckers' in Namalsk Island. They hover around the high-loot Area's, yet only attack if you haven't left after it's 'moans' which occur based on how long you've been in a specified area. It'd stop quite a bit of large Group's controlling area's like the NWAF / The Sobor camp's & recycling the loot for hour's until they've got some of the best items which, considering how good they tend to be, should only come across a Player's hands once in a Blue Moon.

The aforementioned types I'm not too keen on. They seem far too gimmicky for my liking, and I assume for most other people too. We've got a small 'Infectious' disease, for lack of a better word, which can only be cured by Antibiotics ( Of course, I'm referring to the hypothermia / Flu which you attract after being out in horrid weather for too long ) - That alone, however rare it may occur, can kill even the most well-equipped if they can't get the equally rare Antibiotics.

they are not zombies...if you die it is completely impossible to start up again...there is no fluid that could reach your brain and even if it could reach the brain...your brains chemicals would've died of and it would have nothing to react with.......so everyone was already alive when they where infected so re-animating when the infection that you have doesnt cause you to re-animate is a very...ver...very stupid idea (note:the Z stands for Day0...i think)

I think that this is a cool idea. Though i'd suggest more of a Walking Dead style, we are ALL infected, but only turn once were dead!

This would make head shots more effective then ever as it not only is 1 shot kill but prevents reanimation, were as being killed by bleeding out/being shot in the body only kills the player and has them re-spawn as normal but 7 seconds later you have that players body coming after you! Also as some one mentioned it would make it harder to find your gear after dying as your body could be chasing some one and is now 3 miles north of were you thought it was lol,suppose people could troll you or even exploit with this due to having the zed as a personal pack mule...but it could still work.

It'd give more incentive to NOT die.

Which is why it's a good idea.

We need more of that.

Rarer loot + Your body turning into a roaming flesh eating monster really makes you want to not lose your gear.

Because there's no getting it back.

Really? It's stupid? You make no sense basically you just helped my idea. Even if it's just infection then it would be like the rage virus still and you could still become an infected. Don't be so quick to make yourself look stupid. Any how the bloodsucker thing is cool i could care less about special infected though my whole point was to just add another quirk to gameplay.

I believe this would be great since in the new patch, you could be infected from them with a virus; with a chance of 1/1000(0.001%) so, if that chance were to happen, you would fall unconcious after it fully succumbs you then it'll say that you are dead.. The next time you respawn, you could see your zombie self roaming in the area where you once died and it'd be stronger than you in all means in their own instinct.

idk about it being stronger or anything i think it will be like any other infected except it flees from others so you cant get its gear. Kinda like the survivor infected in L4D2

This idea would also help the "Die. Respawn. Get old gear back" thing. Once you die, your zombie body is probably roaming around somewhere else, also the gear is probably infected even more. It'd be best to start fresh then.
