Squad/party and spawn suggestion!

Recommended Posts

#1 i would love to se an option to team up in lobby and spawn as a group on the same random spawn location?

#2 fix the spawn issue that ruins this game... Everybody suiciding to get closest to your mates or body, for exampel.. If you could add 2 options.. Spawn random on south coast or spawn random on east coast. Even better is 2 spawns on each coast, like 1 spawn east part of the south coast

1 spawn west part of the south coast

And

1 spawn north part of the east coast

1 spawn south part of the east coast

#2 maybe add so you can build your own spawn point in your camp? Maybe overkill but it would be awesome :) forcing the use of all the map instead of south fresh killers ;)

I know I'm not the only one that has spent hours trying to spawn close to my mates suicide over and over again... And the frustration when you spawn like kamenka and need to run for ages until you can die...

Thx for me // Markus "Zolitude" Andersson

Everything you mentioned is ruining the point of the game. I think they should somehow remove the option to respawn quickly (running into zombies) by setting some sort of 10min timer when zombies can't attack you.

DayZ is about realism and authenticity.

How are you supposed to know where your friend is without your character having some kind of contact with theirs?

(Skype and other third-party programs are somewhat of a solution, but you still can't pin-point your friend's exact location.)

And you think that picking an approximate spawn area wouldn't get abused?

I think the only 'authentic' solution is that you group up in a pre-game 'lobby' and then you spawn at the same location (the exact spawn location is random, not chosen by the group) on the coast as if you have come ashore from the same boat anchored off the coast.

This doesn't affect in-game 'realism' or 'authenticity' as there is nothing to suggest that survivors could not land at chernarus coastline together in a small boat.

But as for in game icons above heads, markers on maps.. no, absolutely not.

Teamspeak/mumble/skype are enough to co-ordinate with your friends imho.

This is how most people play the game, trying to spawn as far north as they can, at least on my servers :) so this would be the kill for this game as I see it.

I take the idea with markers back :)

Might be worth editing your opening post to reflect that as you may get some more positive responses and you can better refine what you're trying to say :)

in my opinion your spawn should be completely randomized on the map, so you have no fucking clue where you are, they should even take out the location announcement when you first connect to the game.

1. You should be able to spawn with your friends at a random spot, this wont mess up anything as you dont have a weapon when you spawn.

2. A "spawn on camp" function would be pretty good to have too attleast for ,end-game players.

Tents placed in stupit spots should also be comepletely removeable. Right now tents just respawn on server restart.

( there are many problems with this ideas, camp raids, hidden tents and many more)

If you have any way to improve this just talk about it below :)

NOBODY IS PERFECT:D

I had the same idea of a group spawn, based on a pre-game lobby with a random spawn. The problem with the realism could be solved by the adding some context to the group spawn, like (as was suggested before) spawning at the coast with a crashed boat, plane or helicopter. Other options could be group spawning by leaving a preppers bunker or something.

You should be allowed to spawn with a group, but only if you spawn on fire, with broken legs.

No.

Seriously though, how many times has this been suggested?

I don't think you're realising how much of a handicap grouping up is when you're not already reasonably well geared-up.

More mouths to feed. More easliy spotted.

Besides the fact that it's not very DayZ-like, it's just not a good idea.

You can spawn in a group when you meet and log out with your friends, when joining a server you should spawn alone and have to meet up ( IRL when something like that happens you normally don't live next to each other and if, you wouldn't always be at home during the day although you would know where you are, but let's just imagine you were on a trip somewhere on the world and stranded here to add some logic to why you spawned on the beach and are trying to find allies ), adding spawns on the east coast would be great instead of always having the south where most people run into Elektro or Cherno all the time, Berezino is also a good spot.

Everything you mentioned is ruining the point of the game. I think they should somehow remove the option to respawn quickly (running into zombies) by setting some sort of 10min timer when zombies can't attack you.

That wouldn't be good since a lot of players would just run around and loot without danger.

A group has both advantages and disadvantages...the more idiots the bigger the chance that you get killed because of them and other people who let the group drag them through their virtual life ( feeding, finding gear etc. ) you really have to find a team that thinks before they act and are more about survival of the group rather than for the individual kill count.

There's only one case in witch I think group spawn would help.

When you play with a friend who never heard what dayz is.

I had so much trouble explaining to some people how the game works, when they are miles away. And if they are not patient enough they immediately hate the game.

But maybe the better solution for this would be some form of tutorial that you can play separately to understand how everything works, so those people are less frustrated when they actually start playing.

I know we hated every time someone new is about to join us in dayz because we knew that we are gonna spend about 3 hours explaining how the game works, and probably die or screw something up in the process.

so I say no to any kind of group spawn, especially not some camp spawn... death should have more of an impact than it is now.

I suggested earlier, instead of spawning on beach i think it would be better if players spawned in forests. That way you would really have to work harder to figure out where you are before you start running to

pick up the loot from your corpse. If it was me, i'd also put some kind of cooldown before you can spawn again, not very long, maybe 5-10 minutes, just so players have a better feeling that they are really starting over.

I hope this hasn’t already been said as i haven’t read but the 1st 3 posts. The solution to me is so simple its absurd.

You want to spawn together in the same vicinity ... you simply log off in the same vicinity.
