Carnage752 15 Posted January 23, 2013 I can't seem to find the location to download the pre-release, and the github version just doesn't look right. Help?
SmashT 10907 Posted January 23, 2013 (edited) http://uk1.dayz.nu/latest/http://cdn.dayz.nu/latest/testing/Actually they don't seem to have the files anymore. :/Github is probably your best bet. https://github.com/R4Z0R49/DayZMod/tree/Development Edited January 23, 2013 by smasht_AU

Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted January 23, 2013 the world of DayZ can be confusing sometimes, all the new maps, rumours, Gossip. We need the DayZ police to monitor and make sense of it all.
byrgesen 1341 Posted January 23, 2013 If you download it from Github, you need to build the PBO's your self.As smash said, its a dev build, not intended for release yet and Rocket is the only one who knows when 1.7.5 will hit the general population, as he has to give the "OK" to release it, at least RAZOR49 says so :)But if you do get it running, be preppared for bugs, thats whats its all about. The current build isnt good and has major FPS lag issues, so unless you are an active modder i would not suggest updating anything beyond the released versions on DZC. Its simply not intended for a big player base yet.The waiting game continues :)
Gooober 34 Posted January 23, 2013 Lets get it released.......... :)
byrgesen 1341 Posted January 24, 2013 Lets get it released.......... :)Would rather wait for stability tbh :) The current state of the dev build is not optimal at all. 1.7.4.4 is more stabil then 1.7.5 is atm.So just wait or join the game and contribute with code to try and fix it :)
cyanyde 165 Posted January 24, 2013 Knives can now become blunt, axes can now fail, no spamming cooked meat to regain blood.. Wow, getting serious now are we? :o
wolfstriked 143 Posted January 24, 2013 (edited) We complain of the fact that once you find the essentials(matches/knife) there is no more feel of survival, boredom then sets in and players switch over to PVP.I say make blood bags very rare and allow lone wolves to give themselves IV.Then drop food way down to make searching for next meal an always present part of the experience.Trying to give a need to always scavenge with hatchets and knives that quickly dull doesn't feel authentic while food being scarce does. And if bloodbags are rare its another item to always be on the hunt for making hospitals a hotspot for PVP.Supermarkets should spawn bloodbags at even lower rate than hospitals to allow PVE players to avoid the deathmatch that will be hospitals. And please for SA make matchboxes be loadable and you find matches rarely thru out the map.To counter the possiblity of never finding matches make raw meat edible with the chance of infections. xx_fr0st-w0lf_xx 53 Posted January 24, 2013 make food rareThats it, dayz is now a whole new game with one simple, and welcomed change
NickM (DayZ) 57 Posted January 24, 2013 If food will be rare, it needs to be changed where a meal lasts longer than 30 minutes.Having to eat 5 times on a 10 KM march is ludicrous.
Heiduk 265 Posted January 24, 2013 Knives can now become blunt, axes can now fail, no spamming cooked meat to regain blood..All of that has been removed from the most recent changelog:https://github.com/R...ZMod/issues/260I'm starting to think the Devs are just griefing us. It is DayZ, I shouldn't have expected anything less.
cyanyde 165 Posted January 25, 2013 lol that's a really good point, Heiduk. Never even considered that. :P
b683960 3 Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) IHaving to eat 5 times on a 10 KM march is ludicrous.Sorry to say that but you are clueless about the facts.1 can of baked beans have ca. 170 calories. To walk 10 kms you need ca. 460 calories. So for 10 km you need 2.7 can of baked beans. And thats pretty exact what you need in DayZ: ca 1 can of food for 3 km walking.
