Constantly getting kicked off server

probably a signature check if you have steam start it as admin and re validate the files of arma 2 and oa and launch both to the menus

For the computer illiterate - if the ping is too high, is there anything I can do to fix that? I keep getting kicked off too and its making me insane.

OP you need to give more info, game version, how you are starting the game, does vanilla game work, just the basics.

Nobody will be able to help you otherwise.

if its an signature error it means that one or more of the files have become corrupted re validating the files will check if this is the case and redownload the files that are bad and running to the main menu will put the keys back in after the validation removes them

join a lop ping server if you cant stop anything else from going on the internet, check you ping on pingtest.net if you see packet loss or a lot of jitter speak to your isp there may be a problem with your line or get a better isp/ faster bb
