Frustrating

Hi there,

I am fairly new to Dayz and Arma, playing it for a couple of weeks and slowly getting the grip on it. There is one thing which frustrates me though, it´s the behavior of other players towards each other. I am aware that this is part of the game, the fractions of Survivors and Bandits and a possible good loot when killing another player.

Recently (better said half an hour ago) I was lucky to spawn near Elektrozavodsk and found some neat loots, always avoiding Zeds, and finally was looting the supermarket.

But there it went ugly. Some "co player" equipped with only a hatchet saw me and attacked me at the first place, having dozens of Zombies with him. I escaped the supermarket shooting a bolt at him, defending myself, bleeding heavily and tried to run to a safe place. But this player chased me and finally got me hitting me with the hatchet, having loads of Zombies in his back.

I am quite sure he didn´t survive this stunt.

I just don´t get it why people have to attack other players just for the sake of it, having nearly zero chance in surviving this. If this would be a well prepared hit with a good chance to have a nice loot, I would clearly understand it - though it would never be a way for me.

I know this is part of the game, but sometimes it is just frustrating.

You were a lesser threat than the zombies, if you went looting the supermarket you likely picked up beans? if so... then that's what he wanted... that or your crossbow. Maybe he just wanted to kill you for kicks, just got back from a 3 hour stint on COD, FFA Nuketown and felt supreme.

Spawn and start again, happens to us all.

Always keep your distance to people with axes.

Always keep solid cover between you and people with firearms.

If they make a more towards you, endangering you, flee or fight.

if you are in the supermarket in elektro you know your life walks on a thin line...axe or gun, which is the difference when you are almost unarmed? next time aim better and shoot first when you see that kind of player coming towards you

Zombies shouldn't really be a problem, you can easily out run and avoid them, yeh I guess that's kinda lame that he killed you but he did only have a hatchet, it's part of the game. If he came down with 5 guys in a heli and sprayed you down it probably would've been a different story but some people are just a bit annoying. I always think of it as, if I kill this player, I may or may not get some good stuff from him, but if I team up. That's an extra guy that's got my back and I'll most likely be able to get more loot from just teaming up with him. Try and scout out cities a bit more before you go into them, if you have binoculars that's a big bonus. Also, I guess it kinda changes what servers you go on, I've been on some where you just get held up at spawn everytime and it's pointless, others I've been in you have a lot of people picking up guys from spawns in heli's. But yeah, like Bludy said, try and stay out of Elektro and Cherno especially, even Berezino because they're crawling with PvP'ers and if you don't get killed by some mad guy with a hatchet, chances are you're in someones scope that's sitting up in the hills.

+ You think that's annoying? Try getting killed with NVG's, 2 FALS and a Silenced Bison with 3 Alice packs between you full of food, blood bags, morphine, drinks, matches and 3 G17's we weren't even attacking people but it's part of the game, you'll get used to it soon. Frusting yes but adds that depth to the game. Creeping into cherno not knowing if players are bandits or friendlies makes the game for me.

If you intend to try to avoid being a bandit (Power to you) you really have to play stealthy and only make contact with people when you mean to, also kill all bandit skins on sight; they are not to be trusted.

He either wanted your crossbow and beans. Sometimes people just get really annoyed about dying over and over again to bandits that sometimes on a spawn they will just be a dick. Running about with a hatchet killing anyone they can.
