2 quick questions

Recommended Posts

1.) Do I loose humanity for throwing empty cans at players?

2.) Does the hero really run faster, or is it just some kind of a myth? I have a bunch of friends running around with me and we couldn't see any difference. Tested on a variety of public hives and since yesterday, on a whitelisted private hive too.

Some reading for you:

http://www.dayzwiki.com/wiki/Characters#Heroes

http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/85175-how-much-himanity-for-hero-skin-also-is-it-true-that-hero-skin-makes-you-move-faster/

I have been a hero on the public hive since September. I find it much easier to dodge and run around zombies then when I get on a private hive without the hero skin. I also have run with non-heroes and experienced the speed difference. Its very slight, and will be more noticeable over long distances. Try doing some races with your friends. Line up, and run across a field in straight lines (just use W only).

Not sure about the speed difference, to me it just seems like condition. I took a run with a couple of friends, I had already ran for about 15 minutes straight and he had been sitting at the same spot for all that time, when we were going to run he was slightly faster than me, most likely because I had already ran a lot? None of us had hero skin.

well you do get tired and can't aim straight and run slower etc but even from a short run the hero seems faster. I think it was too short to make being tired a big factor.

It is faster.. That's fatigue what you mentioned, it happens to every character. I have never been a hero myself, but I've seen one on a video in third person and I could notice the slightly faster running animation.

Bit tired today, sorry.

I'm not saying that they're not faster, just telling about my experiences.

Also sprinting is only good for short distances, if you've got a long run jog instead.

Additionally, you'll either run faster, or spend less stamina if you lower your weapon before a long jog, regardless of the skin you have.

Thank you guys, I probably overlooked the fatigue factor. But I still think, that this "speed boost" has no real effect. Especially when running long distances - a poor medic's daily bread.

Did you watch the video?

The hero beats the bandit when running through the barn by a few seconds. As the distance covered increases, so does the advantage.

Klesh, yes, I did. And to avoid further misunderstandings, I am not new to DayZ :) I do not sprint over long distances, in fact most of the times I (we) walk.

When I got the hero skin, I just simply expected, that I'm gonna be able to get from A to B (long distance) faster than my buddies. I do not say he isn't faster, I just don't have the feeling.

i feel that also survivors run at different speed..i know this is false, and maybe it's just lag, but sometimes i see my buddy going slower or faster..the hero goes about 10% faster so you should place a way point and see how many meters of difference will be between hero and non hero character..
