major j. 7 Posted January 9, 2013 With the possibility that weapons will be under durability will it be possible to maintain weapons in the green in order to keep them in working order?Or are we going to constantly need to replace these broken down weapons with fresh ones?
terminal_boy 860 Posted January 9, 2013 If this is implemented, I hope the Devs go for a system where the occasional use of a cleaning kit is all that's required rather than that of Farcry 2 where weapons started to corrode and fall apart within minutes of use.Realistically, military weapons remain serviceable for tens of thousands of rounds before parts start failing and once they do fail, you'd need a trained armourer with the correct tools and parts to fix them.
Siegfried 20 Posted January 9, 2013 Rocket has said that weapons will jam, not break, so it won't be like like fallout where your guns would fall apart after 50 shots.
rancor1223 17 Posted January 9, 2013 I dislike this idea for the most part. But if its done correctly, it might work. For example, some old wepons you can find in a barns might have higher chance of jamming. But it would be extremely rare with military weapons. As "Terminal boy" said, weapons are very durable, it can fire thousands rounds without breaking or even jamming.
Dancing.Russian.Man 1631 Posted January 9, 2013 There will be gun cleaning in the Standalone.I'd say it's a pretty safe bet to assume that actual repairing will also be implemented.

That is your number one reliable weapon for standalone. This also goes for crossbows. Edited January 9, 2013 by Sutinen

I dont mind finding damaged weapon. My point is this. Once I repair and clean a weapon, it should not jam or break. Because weapons dont do that (usualy). It would just annoy everyone (just like Far Cry 2 did).
major j. 7 Posted January 10, 2013 yeah absolutely agree terminal boy the guns wouldnt jam, however we do know that weapons are more prone to stoppages if they havent been cleaned from prolonged combat. I hope someone doesnt get the idea that the military grade weapons chewed through heaps of rounds as the army tried to put up a fight againist the zeds and that someone thinks these military grade weapons would be in the red from pickup. cheers for the imput guys
