DayZ Yearly Awards

Surprised to see that this forum hasn't put up any awards for the year, most other forums I'm a part of usually have yearly awards and it'd be a nice thing to have it here in the DayZ forum. Wasn't sure where to post this topic but wanted to make sure many forum users seen it.

These are the awards I've came up with:

1. Server of the Year

2. Forum Poster of the Year

3. Moderator of the Year

4. Map of the Year

5. Bandit of the Year

6. Hero of the Year

7. Group of the Year (seen a couple different groups such as Medic groups, Traders, etc.)

That's most of the ones I can think of so far. Hopefully people will agree with me and we'll have yearly awards. There'll be votes to decide who will be the nominations for each award, then the forum posters will decide who should pick up each award.

my vote would be for Fraggle really good mod helps people all the time with problems staying up till like 4 to make sure they can play the mod

Problem with annual awards, official or unofficial is that there's too many "flavour of the months" here. I've seen a lot of people, servers etc come and go over the last 8-9 months here and yet only the guys who have been here recently and presently will be voted for in any kind of serious number...

I tend to agree with Box although it's a nice idea.

There's many people that have been running servers (very good ones) since day one. They slip under the radar which is a shame, I guess you could argue that it's up to the admins to address that but if they have full servers every night with minimal problems they don't really need to promote, they just go about their business. The same can be said for us moderators, some of us have a higher profile because we like to get involved in discussions but there's others that go about their job quietly and unnoticed, I'd argue that makes them better moderators but they'd be unlikely to get voted because they stay in the background.

Anyhoo, nice idea, I'm just not sure how it would play out.

Edit - I just read the second post. Cheers Amber, like I say it'd be a great ego boost for some of us but it would bother me that others that I would deem more deserving would be overlooked :)

Poster of the Year? Has to be Hetsteak! They both have brought nothing but sunshine and happiness to these hollowed halls.

Mod of the Year? IMO Frags since he murdered Max P and hid his body. Although Sula's purrrs are nicer to the ears.
