My DayZ Can't Run That Smoothly

Hello Survivors, I don't want to type a lot so ill make it short and straight to the point.

My DayZ just simply can't run smoothly and i need some help on running it better so i can play longer (Making my Duration of gameplay longer and easier to play without lag or any problems)

Can anyone please tell me what i can do to make DayZ Run Smoother?

My Specs are:

Processor: Intel® Core i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz

Graphics Card: GeForce GT 540M, Nividia.

Memory: 4096 RAM

Please Don't Comment down below saying that i should get a new Computer or Laptop (I Know my laptop isn't the best).

If i posted this thread in the wrong forum section then please let me know (One Comment about posting it in wrong spot will do, Don't need a army of people saying i posted this in the wrong spot).

do a forum search, there are plenty of tips and tricks. But sometimes none of them will work... It may be time for an upgrade. (this is in my case not a jab at yours)

I had fps issue before but today I downloaded Razer game booster and now I have stable fps 30-60. You should give it a try. (lol it sounded like a commercial)

It wasn't a jab my friend, just so many different things to do, it was easier to suggest the search.

Also I use iobit gamebooster (same as razer) it does help some and worth the cost. (Pst! It's free)

We have exactly the same specs, but i don't receive that problem. Just don't let your laptop overheat.

I get roughly 30-40 frames and 15-25 in cities on a server with 25 people, with low pop servers with around 10-15 i get more frames.

EDIT: Tried the programs, lost around 10 frames for every server i tried, didnt help it just made things worse for me :(

DayZ has some serious issues with any computer it can drop below 20 at times.

setting it to low switches it from your gpu to cpu, if you have abetter gpu, try ramping the settings UP, TURN OFF POST PROCESSING AND ANTI ALIASING!

I got a GTX670 ( heavly oc'ed ), 2500k @4.7GHz and 8GB DDR3 and i can barely have 30FPS in electro/cherno on low-med settings @ 1080p.

On the same rig, Skyrim with 70+ mods ( many very demanding texture and graphic mods ) never goes bellow 60FPS, neither does any other game i played.

On single player/without DayZ, its usually 70+

DayZ was never optimized that great, which is the main drop. All the zombies have an extra skin on them, anyways.

OP, dont waste your time on game booster.

Iv managed to get over 20fps, sometimes over 30 on a i3, 5450m. (waiting for an i5, gt650m to arive =])

Some things you can do to get a few more frames, before starting the game.

On windows 7, go to control panel > System and security > System > Performance information and tools (bottom left) > Adjust visual effects (top left)

and select "adjust for best performance". To switch it back, do the same thing and pick "let windows choose"

Another thing you can do when you start the game, hit the windows key to get back to desktop,and search for "task manager",

In task manager, click the tab, bottom left, "show processes for all users", and find arma process, right click it, go to "priority", and select "above normal", or "high". Then go back into the game.

In game iv read that in video settings, setting something on High or above puts that load on the gpu, and setting it to below High puts the work load on the cpu. Just see what works best for your setup. For me, keeping V-sync on makes the framerate more stable without loosing any frames(maybe even gaining afew).

And a big performance boost is to lower the 3D res down to around 80%, but with the frame boost, it really makes the visuals look crap.

DO NOT SET IT TO HIGH! for future refernce of spreading disinfo, ALWAYS have your video mem on DEFAULT
