US 3066 MONKY monitor

Recommended Posts

Server this happened on: US 3066

Time that it happened including your timezone: 0740 AM Atlantic Standart Time (GMT -4)

What happened during the incident: Logged on to the server, which is a public server, and a debug monitor showed in the top right corner called "MONKY" monitor. Immediately I logged out.

I've been hit with a teleport hack before on other servers (not this one), and the "MONKY" name showed up on a death message. So I didn't stick around to loose my gear. There was only one other person on at the time, not sure if that will help, but I can provide his ingame name if asked by a forum moderator. Also I've noticed a Battleship at NW airfield on this server, for the past couple of days. Yeah that's right - I said Battleship at NW airfield, high and dry. There was also a man, all white, hanging from a noose, suspended from nothing in the middle of the airstrip at the same airfield.

I've been in plenty of servers with the Monky monitor and they've all been fine, it's nothing to do with hackers.

However, the warship, I can't explain, though I have seen that happen aswell.

LOL? Monky Monitor is a hack injected by hackers onto servers. If you press certain buttons, the Monitor will kill you

Ha, didn't know that, nothing's ever happened to me when there's been a Monky Monitor there, but thanks for telling me.

Monkey Monitor started off as a base for an anti hack, of corse a scripter got their hands on it and turned it into a hack, when it pops up, if you try to take any sort of screen shot and activates a script that kills the person taking the screen shot, so tings like spawning weapons, vics or things that are obviously not in Day Z to provoke the player into taking a screen shot is normal

Monky monitor can also block your gear from saving.. so when the restart happens all your gear is gone thanks to monky monitor.. aka dooshbag monitor

I heard stories about Monky Monitor also being able to force you to be unconcious permenantly, (for 6 hours maybe, I'm not exactly sure, but it can cause the irritating bug where your knocked out for what seems like forever, or in some cases permenantly and you have to wait to starve) while displaying a message like "Locked by Monky" or "Suck my monky ****" etc. It can randomly kill you if you try to abort, or disconnect, or pretty much anything. If you see this monky monitor come up, quickly disconnect.

Once I saw a debug monitor that had a biohazard symbol and said something like "Toxic Cheats" or something, obviously a link to "hacks" that are actually keystealers. The player who put it up was kicked from the server, a few weeks later I think a person with a similar name, logged in, (I'm almost sure its the same guy) and he gets banned again for script restrictions.

Heck, I've even heard one story about a "Melon Monitor".

Either way, if you notice ANYTHING suspicious on a server, the best action to take is simply disconnect. You don't want to stay on a server thats been hacked.
