How much ammo/weaponry to carry?

Just wonder, what do you all think is the ideal amount of ammo to carry on your person? at the moment I've got an M4A1 with 6 mags, and an AS50 with 4 nato mags and 2 M107 mags, I'm definately going to find a tent so I can hoard my stuff somewhere, but how much ammo and which weapon should I take with me when I'm travelling. (sidearm M9 SD w/ only 1 mag). Thanks for any help.

I'd usually carry that amount of primary and then 4 mags of secondary with 4 bandages

If I've got a basecamp set up, I usually carry on my missions for supplies...

Automatic rifle with 5 magazines, and one hand grenade (if I'm that lucky!)

Sniper rifle in my backpack with 2 magazines.

Leaves a good amount of room for all the fancy new things I find on my journeys. Tin cans, for instance.. gotta love those tin cans :emptycan: :wub:

If I am carrying 2 primary weapons i have 4 mags of the main and 3 of the other. If i am just walking with 1 primary I carry 6. (unless it is a lmg then it is 2 or 3 depending on which it is)

just don't carry a huge amount of ammo, it's disappointing to have a nice amount of ammo for your gun and then realize you can't pick much else up without dropping a bunch of it. anywhere between 2-5 (5 is probably more than you need though) is good. It depends on what you're planning on doing. It usually takes more bullets to have a firefight with people than picking off zombies on the occasional town visit.

I usually I go over 10 mags if I find that many. That means I do not carry any other rifles around.

I usually have 2 main weapons, mid-short and long ranged, and a sidearm. The trick I use is to take primary weapons that use the same type of ammo, it saves space and makes a switch easier.

So at the present I'm using an M14 AIM with a DMR as a backup, and an M9 SD ofc :D

If you need to use more than one mag against another player, you're both doing very silly things.

3 mags for primary, 2 food, 2 liquid, 1 blood bag, 2 morphine, 2 painkiller. 4 sidearm mags, 4 bandages. That's all you need- and it all fits in your 12 primary inventory slots.

It really depends on the population of the server. I typically carry no less than 3 mags for any weapon. If there is hardly anyone on the server carrying 1 or 2 works out ok.

A shortrange primary weapon like the M4 or AKS-U with 3 mags in the inventory and 2 in the backpack, secondary weapon with 4-5 mags and rest bandages. No space for another primary in the backpack because I don't set up camps, so everything I have is in the backpack.

6 clips of ammo for rifle in main inventory and a further 3 in my backpack. (Semi not auto firing)

I never carry a 2nd weapon in backpack, space is more usefull for medic or engineer supplies.

That's about how much I would keep, too. What you got seems about perfect. Include 2 bandages and the rest sidearm ammo, and you should be good to go.

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention: I do not have a base, so I carry everything I have at once. I can find food and drinks in middle of nowhere, but I am not finding more ammo for a military weapon unless I come across a deer stand.
