Has anyone ever tried taking a town?

I was wondering around in Cheranus and decided to stop and make some steaks in a forest. While cooking, I saw a random town in the distance and started wondering, What if someone took out the zombies and set up camp there?

Has anyone else ever thought about this? People could clear out the zombies and put up barbed wire or cars to create a perimeter around the town and maybe put up barbed wire around where zombies may spawn. People could stand guard on the edge town inside cars so zombies can't get them and get out to shoot people trying to loot from the place. I think with enough effort, it could happen!

(Maybe I'm thinking too hard on the game or been watching too much Walking Dead)

Trouble is the respawning. And the fact that players can spawn in behind you.

It would be nice to be able to set up a base and there isnt anything stopping you from trying to fence one off, but i think you'd need a big crew just to keep ontop of things.

Been there, done that and then a ural ran over like 20 wire fences with no damage to it. Yay!

Forgetting about player sabotage and the fact zombies spawn inside the city. This could be achieved with sandbags as you can vault over them easily enough but they keep the zombies out quite nicely.

I am sure Zeds won't respawn constantly in Standalone.

yeah there should be tons of zombies but no respawn for a long time or they simply cannot respawn if a player is still near. then clearing a place out will be worth it! would make for some epic gameplay and clanwars.
