Do you even aim???

Recommended Posts

I had the occasion to visit the coastal cities of Elektro and Cherno recently. In both circumstances I have been set upon and cornered by a couple of gun-toting rogues who shot at me with a conspicuous indifference to my personal well-being. While under a barrage of bullets I casually turned towards my aggressors and swiftly dealt a succinct deathblow to each and every one of them from my revolver.

The practice I've had headshotting zombies around Chernarus makes dominating these coastal dwelling casual bandits a trivial affair. So bandits, do you even aim? If not, you best not come at me with anything lesser then a 7.62mm.

If in all ocations all you had to defend yourself with was a revolver, then im not so convinced at your suvival skills in terms of how long you have lived or what killed you. the zombies you practiced on or something else.

Im sure however the bandits you alert will be very frightened.

Hello there

Also, remember that the quality of ones rig can have a negative aspect on aiming. To get my mouse to line up the crosshairs on anything smaller than Chenarus itself is a nightmare.

They probably panicked and just unloaded their guns in your general direction, depending solely on their crosshairs for aiming.

Their skill in shooting explains their being bandits on the coast.

Nice, I was once hit by a godmode ninja DMR hacker, who jumped on me from a high building... In Cherno.

I ran to Cherno with only a hatchet and a revolver to get some medical supplies and a new rifle. I came across a guy with an AKM who was aiming it at me. I got hit by one round and he got the .45 five times to the chest and once to the neck. Got the new rifle pretty quick :D

When I see other survivors and thry start firing, I don't even care about a kill shot. Suppressing fire as I escape is sufficient.

any oldskool gamer wont aim up !!!!

i never aim up becuase you lose vital seconds aiming up and also if you have cross hairs in hip fire the target is smaller more precise ;)

i never play on servers with crosshairs enabled, separates the men from the boys. Most Youtube vids just show peeps running round firing from the hip like noobs, it really annoys me.

Bandits are not found on the coast, those are grievers. The true banditry is up north, where the men are separated from the boys

Using an AKM zeroed for 300m on targets at > 100m it's like being an imperial stormtrooper.

I've noticed, just like what happens IRL, when rounds are headed your way there are a lot of things that can happen. You may freeze, panic, or otherwise not get off good return shots. I really like advancing on a player while they are trying to hit at me, placing well aimed slow shots compared to their rapid firing at range. I may get winged, I may die, but usually it intimidates them to the point where it gives me the desired effect.

If i come under fire, i can tell within the first two rounds what kind of opponent i'm up against. Because if you dont hear the third round then i'm afraid you're dead.... If i come across another survivor and he/she starts unloading a hail of rounds at me, then i just start to move like the infected. (Everybody knows that them god damn Infected can be hard to hit "sometimes").

A few accurate rounds will always be the difference between life or death.

I don't kill others, spray and run if in a situation. If I wanted to kill, they would be dead before they realise they are not alone!

Honestly most firefights I get in show how terrible people are at shooting. The only thing people I get shot at by are able to aim with is an AS50. Everytime it's a normal firefight, I win 99% of the time. In fact I think the last time I lost in a firefight was when I first started playing Arma and DayZ. Trust me playing normal Arma 2 OA and shooting at targets 200-400 meters away really helps you learn to aim. Most players and bandits seem to have the accuracy of an imperial stormtrooper.
